I wanted to get some opinions on my experience trying to book an overnight.  I balked when I found out I had to pay upfront even though the appointment wasn't until late Dec.  Is it customary to have to pay the whole thing before it happens?  I wouldn't have minded if it was just a deposit.

It is not customary to have to prepay for an overnight. Not having any other particulars, I can see no reason why as that is not the norm. A deposit perhaps, yes.

I've done a good number of "overnighters" during my time. Never have I paid in advance. In fact, I've never paid a deposit.
