Depends on what you are comparing them to.  I have heard about ones in Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, etc. that are "tricked out to the max".  The ones here in SD are more basic.  You have a couple of bottomless Deja Vu's, a couple of decent independent topless places (Pacer's, Dreamgirls), a decent topless chain (Pure Platinum), a couple of decent but aging bottomless independents (Body Shop, Les Girls, and someplace else I can't remember in Miramar), and a couple of seedy bottomless places.  You also have a "dancer in a booth" place called Jolar, and a couple of nude modeling places (Body Shots and Risque Lingerie).

My preference back when I went to clubs, which I would never even bother with now unless I was with a group of guys and we were just bullshitting the night away, was the Body Shop on Rosecrans.  They had pretty decent girls there, some of whom were friendly and fairly high mileage, and the club is relaxed and not too loud and "corporate".  Just make them state their rates before a lap dance, because some try to jack up the rates the club posts for the dances.

By the standars of "upscale/nice" in other major cities, I'd say there are no such clubs in SD.

The Strip Club Industry here in SD is weak at best. Unfortunatly our strip clubs are governed by some of the most stringent laws in the country. We have a 6FT law here, where as dancers once we remove either our tops, or our shorts are required to stay back 6 feet from the customer. Also lap dances are "AIR" dances we are not alowed to touch the customer, nor remove any of our costumes.
For those very reasons the Strip clubs will not invest a lot of money into the quality gentlemans clubs you see in other cities. Both Cheetahs and Deja Vu/Showgirls have tried to build such places, only to be shut down by the public, and our elected officals.
Deja Vu/Show girls owns the majority of clubs here in SD, them being the following:
Deja Vu Kerny Vila= All Nude no booze, Deja Vu Midway= All nude no booze, Litle Darlings Lemon Grove= All nude no booze, Pacers Topless= with booze, Dream Girls= Topless with booze, Barnet Adult Store (down the street from DV Midway) wich has booth girls, and Jolar in La Mesa which is booth girls as well.

The other Nude clubs (which have no booze) are: Cheetahs, Tens, Expose, The Body Shop, Les Girls, and Minx's.

The Topless Clubs (which have booze) are: Pure platinum on Pac Highway, Pure Platinum Kerny Mesa, Dancers Miramar Rd.

There are a few decent new strip clubs in TJ as well now. I have actually danced at a few of them and had a great time. But if I go out to strip clubs to party I like Pacers and Dream girls the best. Plus if at the end of the night at Pacers you want something more with out calling a provider there is the Barnet Adult store(Booth Girls) down the street from Pacers and Deja Vu.

Hope this helps?
Cheers!!!

Hello Kylie,
I guess you're proof that ladies do go down to dance in TJ. What are the new clubs in TJ that you wrote about? I used to frequent Madonna's.

Cheetas, all the way.

The girl will take to the back and basicly f you, but with your cloths on.  So, wear underware and dark pants.

I don't know how long ago you went, but this is far from the truth.  Their legal troubles have rendered their dances completely air-filled.

Little Darlings in Lemon Grove is free of the SD city ordinance and they have decent mileage, but the quality of girls is a bit on the low end.

Compared to other major cities, SD flat out stinks for strip clubs.
