I just had a bad dream, which made me realize I've never been tested before.  How does it work?  Can I just go down to Kaiser, pay my copay, and wait for results?  Does anyone know of any AIM-style facility in SD County, so I don't have to drive to LA?

You fail to say why you would not want to take advantage of your health insurance benefits, but assuming you somehow think your tests results would not be private:

San Diego County has the cheapest rates, $15 for STD/HIV, available at four locations.

Planned Parenthood also tests, but much more expensive.

I found out my health insurance will not approve a full panel of tests unless initial tests come back positive.

BTW, for any concerned providers, there's nothing wrong with me.  I'm just trying to be responsible for once.  Sorry if I scared or upset anyone.

 You can set up through the aim website to get tests done at a lab in San Diego. www.aim-med.org
I go there once a month. It usually takes a couple days to get results :)

   Always be concerned with your health!!

ok well short version is this, planned parenthood you will save alot of money, but you have to wait 2 weeks

there are quick testing internet sites you can call, and they will arange for you get tested sometimes within the hour, and then results in a day or two depending on the specific test, the down side of this, is its way more expensive

so save money wait two weeks

spend alot more know in days , preaty much your choices

Since "Relo" gives no link for his "short version" that PP will "save alot [sic] of money....", the following is from their website:

"Prices and Payment Information
Price ranges for our STD testing and treatment services and safer sex products are:
condoms - $3 for 3, $6 for 12, $12 for 24, $15 for 30, $24 for 48
bacterial vaginosis testing and treatment - $15
chlamydia testing and treatment - $5-$35
gonorrhea testing and treatment - $25-$70"

As I stated in my response, the County gives a full panel of tests including HIV for $15.  PP does not seem to.....the gonorrhea test alone costing $25.

Bottom line: do your own research before making a decision.  Don't take any post here as gospel
