You can test by copying and pasting in notepad or some other text editor. You can just right click in the field Link URL in TER message window. Don't forget to get rid of the extra http:// and that's it. I think TER has information on this as well, just don't remember where and sort of lazy to look. Remember almost all operating systems have maybe a dozen ways to do the same thing. This is my way not the highway.
