Well, that stinks. Sounds like she did all the appropriate screening. You can only do what you can do to protect yourself and consider all the variables. Beyond that you'll be eaten up with paranoia and make yourself nuts.
The important thing is to have your ducks in a row before you venture out. And, in the event The Bad Thing happens, do you have someone on retainer? Do you already know who you will call?
Or what you will do? You probably should.
