Well, I think it’s about time to consider taking on a last name…

No I'm not getting married but seriously, all the cool kids are doing it (I’m kidding).  One reason for considering this is the showing of additional Belle's out there that pop up occasionally.  I have a few names I am considering but would appreciate any other ideas.

My two favorites are:

Belle Le Claire
Belle St. Claire

A few other options I have considered are:

Belle Rousseau
Belle Dellacroix
Belle Boudreaux
Belle Devereaux
Belle J’adore

I would appreciate any input from you guys and gals before I make the call.  I want the name to go along with my current persona as I am not doing a total revamp.  Thank you kindly in advance.  Until I hear from you…

Yours truly,
Belle ??????

pick something easy to say

mila
i get mee-la (correct)
i get mill-uh (nope but close)
i get miley (huh?)
i get mia (not really but missing the "L")

then i added tequila and more people said it rite.
not that saying my fake name rite matters much. ;)

IMO. The others are, except St.Le Claire, a bit cumbersome. BTW didn't we test these name waters about a year ago. I think I suggested Claire DesVaux but you were not keen on that. But I do like Belle Le Claire.

they remind me of amazing philosophers and painters. :)   J'adore just sounds like a perfume (no offense, it's a great scent!!).

I think Dellacroix is right for you! Good luck!

off my list because I couldn't stand to see their pronunciation brutalized.  Thanks Mila.  You're right, you definitely cannot get Tequila wrong.

Ciao,
Belle

I never made the move but I am ready now.  I scanned my emails to find yours and the suggestions you gave but I delete emails for discretionary purposes after a while.

I am pretty sure Dellacroix, or rather Lacroix, was one of your suggestions because I remember my complaint being that many people would kill it when trying to pronounce.

I like Belle Claire DesVaux but once again I worry about pronunciation.  Thanks for piping up love.  I am still looking forward to your return to San Diego.  Until then...

Truly,
Belle

in French of course.  No fair, I liked J'adore before the parfum came out.  Now that it has been used so often for various reasons, I would feel a bit commercial if I took it on.

Dellacroix is actually my all time favorite but as I said in earlier posts, I worry about the pronunciation of it being mutilated and I just couldn't have that; it's too beautiful.

Thanks for your input, I am still having a hard time convincing myself not to use Dellacroix.

Truly,
Belle

but I am concerned about the pronunciation being difficult.  I would hate to hear/see such a beautiful name destroyed; it is however special to me.  Thanks for your input love.  Until we meet again...

Truly,
Belle

Belle Southern  ?

It would still give you google hits from the old name.

Alternately it's a proven psychological fact that the same letter last names are easier to remember, hence Belle Boudreaux would be in that league (although highly unlikely to be spelled right in a search).

While I appreciate the attempts to tie it into your existing persona - almost all the names you have proposed are multi-syllable and hard to spell - business killers IMHO.

Blake, Burnside, Burnham, would all be somewhat thematic and easier to find/remember/search on.

I actually like Burnside (or Burnsides) - has a ring to it.

Sounds like you want a French-sounding last name.  And taking Mila's pronunciation advice into account, why not...Belle Michelle.  It sounds French, no one will ever mis-pronounce Belle, and it's also a nice nod to the Beatles.

My favorite French name of all time belonged to the Marquis de Lafayette, an allied general on Washington's staff, and perhaps his most trusted confidant, during the American Revolution.  Barely 20 years of age, injured at the battle of Brandywine, and stationed with Washington at Valley Forge while the British occupied Philadelphia, the French officer was one of the heroes of the war.  Anywho, his full name was really something else.  It was...

Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roche Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette

Not suggesting, Belle, you also go with 9 names, lol, but maybe you'll find some inspiration here.  In fact, I kinda like Belle Lafayette.  It's very pretty.  That's my vote. :)

about it being spelled wrong and even pronounced wrong would be worse.  It is such a beautiful name.  Thank you for your suggestions.  I appreciate all of them.

What do you think of Laboulaye?  I recently heard it used.  Belle Laboulaye is beautiful but hard to say and even harder to spell.  I'm torn.  Thank you for your suggestions.  I am still giving the decision much thought.  You'd think I was getting married or something of that nature.  Hehehehe, not in sight!

Yours truly,
Belle
