Just use private browsing mode

If you use Firefox, it's called private browsing mode. (Ctrl+Shift+P)
If you use Chrome, it's called Incognito mode. (Ctrl+Shift+N)

Once you go back to regular mode, it clears all session logins and cookies.

I currently use Gmail, but I've had some close calls.  I hate the way Google will sometimes keep you logged in, and my SO also uses Gmail, and on a couple of occasions I've forgotten to log out.  No disasters yet but a couple of close calls.  Has anyone experienced similar problems?  What would you recommend?

Bad thing is--- I can't seem to figure out how to tranfer or open the emails using phone ;o(

I still love it... I only got it in the first place cause its a little different.
Besides- it goes with my personality, hehehe
Best of luck...

What she said! The problem with a shared computer is the History. Either set your browser to delete history (may piss off your SO) OR install a separate browser on a mem stick (pass worded of course!) Always log out and never save a password. Just good practice even if you are not in the hobby.
Browsing and email is the least of your problems... try your phone, get a throwaway an hide it in a place no one would ever look!  A secret is a secret until you tell someone! Then there is the financial trail never use your cc for any hobby related business not even you phone! All of this is just good practice for the 21st century

1.  Use Outlook with imap for gmail (I assume this isn't what you're looking for).

2. User sessions allow users to log back in without a password.  User cookies are defined by the browser recognizing the user using a "cookie".  Soo...Use a chrome or firefox extension to either block cookies from google mail domains or have the cookies expire after a period.  I couldn't find exactly what you're looking for, but this would at least block cookies:

3. Or, just set everybody's screensaver to activate after 5 minutes of inactivity, and click the "require password" so people can't hop on a computer when you're away.

As well when after you uncheck the little box that says stay sign in even you have log out ,look on the upper right corner of your windows and you're going to see your gmail name and scroll through it and log out from there as well and for sure you are log off forever unless u sign in again...

make it a habit to always lock you session when you leave the computer. It takes a little bit to get used to but I always lock the computer when I step away. As sweetheartserena suggested, the fallback plan is to set your screen saver to lock your screen after X number of minutes of idle time

His question is his forgotten to log out so how lock the screensaver can help him not to be on a close calls as even his SO can ask or know his PW and even he lock his screensaver and his SO press the google window he can still be found out...I think it is that little box that says keep sign in that he has to uncheck or better he change PW all the time or better he don't use gmail @ all...You see when your log in to gmail and even u log off and when u press google on your window and you look at the upper right corner of the google window your name is still log in so he better log out from the google because google is connected to gmail...I'm not a computer WHIZZZ here but I am a gmail user...Hope this HELPS...Thank You...

If you and your other both use gmail, don't use gmail for your secret correspondence.

Open a completely different email and don't tell anyone what it is.  Your SO can't accidentally use it.
If you are a paid up TER member just use TER email.
Or try some of the other services out there.
I found mail.com which then offers some different addresses from within - I'm using [email protected] (not my real address).
It's free. I think there is a level of non-traceability as I log in to mail.com and from there I log into [email protected]. My message history is not on my machine (I think!).
I have not been censored with mail.com even with certain prohibited words (I used to use warmmail but after sending a review to someone, I got busted for prohibited language and lost the account).

That still doesn't prevent you from leaving it open, so try real hard not to leave it open!
