Little Italy, 5th street downtown, Hillcrest, Coronado and La Jolla for eats.  Mission Beach for the sand.

Try lunch at the bayside bar at Paradise Point hotel on Mission Bay.  Or at the Bali Hai $8-10 sandwiches with the best bay view!

And if none of the gentlemen here in San Diego have offered to take you out to lunch or dinner yet - shame on them...  call me and we'll go.

You can shop anywhere but best values are in Mission Valley!

Downtown has plenty of restuarants, for shopping I'd go with Fashion Valley or you can hit up La Jolla or Pacific Beach for more beachy attire.

Pacifica in Del Mar has excellent food, drinks & a spectacular view of the ocean.  Prime 10 is an awesome steak house on Via De La Via in Solana Beach.  Shopping can be had throughout San Diego, but anywhere along the coast during this time of year is the BEST!  I walked 2 miles on the beach 2day & the water is warm!
