Health Issues in TJ

I often hear people suggesting a trip to TJ is a better deal economically and sometimes in terms of quality as well.

1] How is the health situation there?  Are the girls clean and healthy compare to what we get here?

2] How would you rank the transportation options?  Cab, drive my own car, etc.

Girls that work in the bars are suppose to have health cards.  You can walk across the border and take a cab for about $5 to bars like Adelitas or Chicago Club.  If you walked from the border to one of these bars, there are real close to each other, it's about a 10 to15 minute walk. IMHO, spend the 5 bucks and take a cab.

The health issue

One could argue that it is safer across the border than it is in the states.  The street girls have health cards and are checked on an irregular basis for their cards.  You could ask to see their cards if you are concerned.  The bar girls are suppose to have health cards to work in the bars.

The escorts are very concerned about their health.  Rebecca would not frech kiss or do anything uncovered.  She went into detailed discussion about the different symptoms of each type of disease.  For me it was comforting to know that she was well informed about the trade.

Park at the border and take a cab to Adelitas or Chicago Club.  The escorts will provide transportation on the southern side of the border.

I wouldn't suggest walking from the border to Adelitas.  I was mugged in broad day-light one block from the bar.  A $5 cab ride is worth the added safety.

Hey Cairo,,I would agree too that the cab is the best way to go. I got mugged a few years ago also in the daylight.  It was raining too which sucked. Thank god they didn't get my car keys and I had prepaid my parking.

I just returned from yet another very enjoyable couple of days in TJ after doing a little business in the SD area. I stayed at the excellent Pueblo Amigo Hotel, had some delicious food and enjoyed the compnay of two fine providers. I believe the girls there are just as health conscious and "safe" in that regard as ladies on this side of the border. As has been mentioned, the girls in the bars are regulated and have to have monthly health checks. Some may say that this is more show than go, but there are occasional "raids" on the bars where the officials check every girl for a card.

As for service, there are girls in TJ that can't be beat and some who do little more than go through the motions... just like anywhere else. Variety? Nothing like it on this side.

No doubt about the economics being to the hobbyist's advantage in TJ. As for transportation, some drive, some walk, some take a cab. I walk over and cab it. Five dollars to just about anywhere you want to go (but verify that before you get in!).

Yes, TJ is a large city and like any other place of its size (including San Diego), there is a seedy element looking to forcefully separate you from your money. Be cautious but no need for paranoia IMO.

Lastly, the LE issues are so great on this side, to me it's a no-brainer to make the easy trip over... though there is at least one provider I still "dream" about seeing in SD and hope to see on one of my trips :-)

Check the board at the link for lots more TJ info.

people have the images that TJ is dirty and scummy which can be true.

In the Zone, a health card is required to work both in the street and in the bars. With any third world country, money talks, but I would go so far as to say that the girls over all, are much more health conscious than here in the US. I believe that it's either every two weeks or every month that the girls have to have a health check up and on one of the TJ boards, they did a health card check recently.

In the bars, drug use is there. A friend that was going regularly told me of where the policia came in, shut every thing down, put the men and women on opposite sides, did some searches to find drugs.

Since TJ is the most dangerous city in Baja, especially with the drug murders, always be careful. But the street that many guys were getting mugged has been cleaned up quite a bit.
If you are concerned about getting mugged, walk in the streets, be aware of anyone approaching you and ALWAYS take a cab to and from the border.

If I lived near San Diego I'd be in trouble since I'd be there all the time, like many of my pals I see down in the Zone.
Fortunately I live in LA
