Here I was asleep, knowing I was expecting a call at any wee hour from overseas. The phone rang and I grabbed it.

Only to hear someone's wife threatening me. Not pretty. Not fun at all, and it got worse..

Guys, I do everything I can to protect your privacy, your name and reputation. Some of us ladies have the same to protect and when I hung up, all I wanted to do was wring his neck for putting me through that and not taking the necessary steps to be cautious and jeopardizing MY privacy! If he thinks his WIFE's mad...

If you don't want to 'pay', then learn the rules how to 'play', or you're not ready to be in the Big Game.

sedona as you say, there are certain rules one is advised to follow in this hobby.  At the start of the night I tried to impart some "drinking" rules to my sister, got up to #8 or so, starting with the de rigeur alcohol before liquor mantra, cruising thru drink enough water and don't argue with the homeless, ending up with "keep on dancin', darlin!".  you'll burn it off eventually, that's the idea.  I'm just glad she didn't puke in my car. Sounds like you weren't so lucky, but at least those types of calls won't leave a permanent stain, yes?  best wishes, fahrkle

I had one call a couple of years back who said she found my number laying on the coffee table in plain site. I know some men out there want to get caught for what ever reason but if they want to break up with their SO's or something, putting others at risk is just not the way to do it.
  I hope she doesn't turn out to be too psycho hun. I mean any woman who would call another and treat that woman badly because of something her husband did, can't be all that stable.
 I was able to talk my way out of it with mine, thank goodness.

call me naive, but how would this woman know who you are or what you did together?  assuming the idiot didn't go out of his way to describe the encounter, couldn't you just be a friend or some other innocent acquaintance?

Sedona, all of our hearts go out to you. It is a person's worst nightmare to be called out on the "hobby." Worst yet, it was not of your own doing, but the stupid moron who allowed his  wife to find out about it. Hang in there Sedona, we all wish you the best.

If there is any irony to your story, it is perhaps that overbearing, nosey, controlling and snooping wife which probably drove him to "hobby" in the first place!

It also reminds me of an old joke,..
A man notices that a very young and attractive single woman has moved into the house across the street from him & his wife. He goes over to her house to introduce himself and sees if she needs any help around the house. She says "yes." He spends a considerable amount of time at the younger lady's house over the next couple of weeks. Finally his wife, fed up with the whole thing, calls up the younger lady up and says, "Honey, please tell my husband to get his ass across the street." The younger lady replies, "Well Dear, that's exactly where he has been getting it for the last two weeks!"
