I am wondering if there is some sort of network or community of providers in San Diego.  I would really appreciate being connected to other professional women in this industry who live in my area.  

Since becoming a provider, I have become more and more disconnected from any sort of socializing that is relaxed, just for fun, unpaid, and UNREVIEWED. I no longer have access to the company of friends and colleagues because of my new career choice. In addition to society's lack of acceptance of our profession, nobody can understand and relate to my new way of life, the privilege I feel to do this work, or the pride I feel in the work that I do.

I have also enjoyed professional networking groups in any industry that I have worked in and in any profession I have chosen.  Those networking groups were my strongest resource and support system for problem solving and growth. Another great thing that many networking groups are able to achieve is development of industry wide standards and protocol that usually elevate all of the individual members' ability to succeed and thrive.  

And, the main benefit that a networking group provides is the power that is achieved by the collective unification of people with common interests in policy and law.  I have been a part of networking groups that have actually created and changed laws based on the needs of that industry.  There is nothing more powerful than women united together, not even "THE Man".  

I thought that I experienced the most fierce competition among women when I worked as a female attorney.  Who in society are more competitive than asshole lawyers? Well, I gotta say, they have nothing on providers in this industry! The times that I have reached out to meet other providers and form friendships/alliances it has been disastrous. The competition I have observed on a limited personal level and among the women on the boards reflects an attitude that there is somehow a shortage of men who want to fuck.  There are as many potential clients for this industry as there are heterosexual and bisexual men.  Plenty to go around for those of us that do this work in San Diego.  There is no need for us to give up our collective power and resources in order to compete for clients.  There is no need for us to live in isolation.  

So, is there some secret society of San Diego Providers that I have not found yet that gathers in friendship and professional comradery? If so, will somebody please direct me to it or invite me?  If not, are there any other providers out there that feel the same way that I do and see the value in coming together with out our claws drawn out and sharpened?
