For Me, Videos

They're much more provocative, particularly videos that run 1-2 minutes. Those not so appealing are ones lasting 15-20 seconds or videos that turn out to be simply a montage of still photos.

Pictures

Pictures are usually much easier to do well. Videos are significantly more money to have done, and even when done well I could probably form a better first impression of someone with a dozen Instagram photos.  

If anything, I'd say get a snapchat and post a good story there if you want video. Easy, Cheap, Fun.
