....I think sometimes they think they are rating very good but just really have no idea what they're doing lol.  I also think this belongs on the regular discussion board.

trying to figure out why a reviewer gives a certain numerical score is impossible. If the written review is positive I could care less about the numbers.

I'm no hobbyist but IMO someone gives a provider a 6 in looks because she isn't quite a 7 (attractive) but not quite under the "plain" category of 5. I can understand why looks ratings may not match a stellar review as a provider could be an amazing physical experience but you really are looking around for a paper bag to toss over her head.

As far as performance if a provider doesn't offer certain activities her max score for performance is only up to a 7. So she might suck cock like the dickens but if it's covered and if she doesn't offer things listed below this rating list she can only get a 7. She may even lose points if she was a great lay but not much into kissing. Perhaps her ad states certain things but she doesn't do them... The rest of the session is awesome but is it fair to give a great score when things were not supplied as offered?

TO SUM UP:

There is NO WAY to figure out the reason for scores unless you ask the reviewer outright. I for one asked one hobbyist why he gave a certain provider a higher score (my thoughts were she was being unsafe) and I wanted to clarify that notion. When I asked he mentioned I had forgotten certain things we had discussed and I apologized mentioning that next time things would be even better. I suggest if you see a review for someone you are interested in that is strange, concerning or just stands out to contact the reviewer and get the down low.

There are plenty of ladies that work UTR and do very well in the Hobby world.
Not too many years ago .. there was no forum for reviews and the ladies did quite well despite that.
Now in the world of technology - when using certain sites like TER and YELP for advertising, reviews can be helpful to bring business.

In my opinion reviews are just a way of reading Erotica. There is a good story to be told. And if it's told well, I get wet with the way a provider connects with a patron. The number scores are all ymmv, as everyone is different and sees the world through a different view.

I personally have only asked for one review(the very first one to get onto this forum) although I have many. I find that the writing of the review doesn't determine what will or won't happen on any given date. It really is just a tale of sexy naughtiness that we all feed off when the need for stimulation is there.

How a person scores is their own formula and no one follows the same format. So therefore it is only a representation of an opinion. He said he said and all.

The best thing about reviews is that we can get an idea of whom it was written about .... then it is our own responsibility to create the connection we want from our initial attraction

I think very few people score as it states on the site.  I would guess an average score is about 7.  People might complain about the grade inflation, but the truth is if you bring below-avg service you just are not going to last very long - so I think there is a survivor bias - those that are better than average are essentially what makes up the typical review.

I personally rate a 10 as "as good as it gets."  I would guess this is about 1% of the providers (which would be 1 in 100) - there are equals,  but it is hard to imagine better looks/experience.  9 for me is someone I would recommend and/or repeat (this is probably top 5% or 1 in 20).  8 is no regrets (probably top 10%).  I really try not to see anyone where I think there is risk below 8 (outside of site rules on max score).

One thing that every hobbyist should consider when reviewing is not just the absolute score, but also relative score -- the score you are giving relative to her average score.  The more your score differs from the avg, the more you are influencing her rating.

The details in the review can also be very important.  I do believe that being honest is important, as I think it helps to get a good fit in the future for both parties.  But, it is also important to realize that we are all human and these women are putting themselves out there in one of the most emotionally vulnerable ways possible.  So I think it is important to write these reviews by not saying anything you would not say to them in person - being tactful, courteous, and respectful.  As a general rule, I try to always mention a few positives before addressing areas that could be improved or fell short of expectations.

you have some hobbyists who are so happy to just get laid that they throw out 9's and 10's to nearly all who they see.

I have to say that I do pay more attention to the lower review scores of a provider because I believe they are more honest.

Back in the early days of TER, providers were happy to get 8/8's. These days they complain if they don't get 9's and 10's and a lot of hobbyists give them the higher scores, deserving or not.
