HIV/AIDS Epidemic In Tijuana. The warning signs are becoming more evident in part because of the city's growing number of infected sex workers. Aids is increasing at an Alarming Rate. UCSD School of Medicine indicates that the rate of HIV/AIDS infection in Tijuana, Mexico is increasing, and much higher than had been previously estimated. The findings are based on data compiled by a team of researchers working in San Diego and Mexico to create a population-based model in order to estimate HIV infection rates. High-risk groups include injection drugs users and female sex workers in Tijuana. Data in this study suggest that Tijuana's HIV infection rate may be close to three times higher than Mexico's national average. The United Nations AIDS Program considers an HIV epidemic when more than 1% of the population is infected. The model used in the study suggests that injection drug use and female sex trade are driving the HIV epidemic in Tijuana. Only half of female sex workers and one third of injection drug users in Tijuana have ever had an HIV test. Most workers in Tijuana who are working with a Pimp are infected since they are usually obligated to have unprotected sex with clients. The question is, DO YOU WANT TO TAKE THE RISK? Be careful with your selections and always use "PROTECTION", it's not worth your life or your families.
You got to use protection, you just have to! Why would you not! I personally don't understand why guys would go to TJ or use the lower end providers on CraigsLists when there are so many options to find good, quality, HEALTHY, fun providers! Anyways if you decide to go South O' the Border get a tetanus shot and bring the Trojans!
I don't really see how you take less chances north of the border as opposed to south. You're still "sleeping" with someone who has had sex with several partners. As you said, always bring trojans!
are willing to take the risk. Much like the thirll of taking a risk on CL as mentioned below. Now obviously this is a very irrational risk. I think sadly people still have that thought "well she looks fine" But an economic situation such as TJ. A little extra csh can easily get you BB and you may be lead to believe this is esp. for you.
well first, I don't do BB. That's just plain stupid in this day and age. Even before HIV I "wrapped the rascal" because as my mom told me, she wanted grandkids but not unwanted grandkids. But back to the topic, I thought the club girls are required to get tested and carry a health card. That's sure not the case here where it's not legal. Yes, I know some do get tested which is very good. If I recall, I think you have posted this before. More to the point, no matter if you go down there or up here there's the risk. The price being paid doesn't make a bit of difference IMHO. Besides even with a condom, there's still STDs you can get that can make things bad for you.
My comments are typical not directed at any one person. My point of view comes from living/modeling in Mexico City. Also spending time in TJ and other cities. Also from having known girls that worked the clubs and brothels. (Very nice ladies) I know most men try to educate and protect themselves. Sadly some still have misconceptions and take chances. As far as, working girls having to do anything in Mexico. That is never the case. Lic., permits, testing can all be over run by a little cash. Health cards or work permits can easlily be bought. I never speak upon something I don't know about. I have personal stories of corruption, bribes, and even murders. It is what it is. If you stop to see the living conditions or look at the education on this topic, esp. in TJ. You have to know that cash is a much bigger priority. Of course there is no 100% protection on either side of the border. Even with a Trojan you have a risk factor. However, your risk factor with someone that always uses protection in any situation, opposed to someone who may be 50/50. Is obviously lower. Never would I generalize and say this is at ever place or provider. But the growing numbers of infected has to speak for soemthing. Part of the game is taking the risk. My hope is that most try their best to keep it at a minimum.
This has been know for a long while now, especially central america, where the sex trade is a major part of the economy which in turn is run mostly by the underworld.
Having a family member that is in the medical research field, I have heard and known about mexico fr a long time. Other diseases making a comeback to the USA due to illegal aliens and the constant flow of people between our nations: malaria, hepatitis, paraites, and herpes!
