Guns or Butter???

Well...not butter exactly...I have to make a decision whether to go for sex or buy the military .45 I always wanted one like I used to carry in the Military). I did a quick calculation...I can "pop" my .45 for years to come endlessly gettting banged, or I could get one "pop" maybe 2.

I will be the guy at the pistol range with a huge hard on.

When faced with similar circumstances, do any of you see this choice as sorta rediculous? Life should be easier than this...

I prefer Guns AND Butter (Not at the same time)
But, If I had to choose guns OR butter?
Your resoning is sound. I'd take the 1911. Are you eyeing the Colt, the Springfield or another maker? I have a Colt, but If I had to do it over again, Id spend the extra money and get the Springfield. My Colt has been needed repairs twice. (Front Sight came off and Slide Release busted.)

At the same time however, I do truly hope that fortune smiles on you again and you have the oppertunity to encounter any of the pleasant ladies that San Diego has to offer.

Das,
I got the Springfield 1911A1 Mil-Spec, so the sights are the low GI type. It is pretty much the same looking gun I used in the navy. I also bought the .22 cal conversion kit for it from Kimber. This way I can look really cool shooting the hell out of it at little cost, but be aware the .45 cal will be installed and ready if anyone tries to unlawfully enter my home. Nothing stops a man like a .45 cal shot at close range. I know there supposedly better or more reliable handguns out there, but as a veteran...it has to be the 1911A1.

Hey...happy Veterans Day to all you vets out there...that includes you too Jenni...Semper Fi!

Isn't the 1911 a Colt, only?  If military, I thought all the old .45's were the Colt model 1911 - never heard of Springfield or another maker marketing the 1911, but, I could be wrong. Here's a question for gun geeks:  Sig or Glock 9mm?

The 1911 was actually not a colt gun way back before WWI, but it was very much a predominantly Colt gun for many years. Several different manufacturers were in production for many years to accomodate not only the US govt orders, but foriegn ones too. Right now, I dont think anyone would buy a 1911 from Colt, they basically suck. Every gun dealer I spoke to said the Springfield was one of the best out there. I saw my gun today to sign my 10 day DOJ registration papers. Last time I held a military 1911A1 in my hand was a long time ago, in a land far far away.

I ended up going for butter also...gotta love those asians...Minatos may be pricey but a new crop of ladies is there now...have seen Gina and suzy (not Suji...suzy) Gina was a total hottie. I still say escondido and sandy...best looker around. All this talk of guns and pussy...I recall dropping my pants in a southeast asian bar  for a BJ and my .45 hit the floor...I thought the shore patrol was gonna kill me...i got drunk and dont recall whatever happened.

Yeah , I had the same problem couple of weeks ago. I wanted the new Oakley Hatchet Oluminum polarized sunglasses for $305 or I could get a provider from the choice at Cityvibe for $300. Very tough decision, protected eyes or protected sex hmmmm...... did the logical thing bought a Gateway 4530GZ laptop for $1200 and had sex with the girlfriend. problem solved.

I recently purchased a Para-Ordnance 18.9 LDA Limited in .45 ACP and it is a very sweet shooter. Carries 10+1 and included an extra clip, pretty pricey but handles beautifully. The choice was a little difficult until I felt the weight and balance in my hand, smelled the gun oil and heard the crisp action when I racked the slide. Well taken care of it will give years of reliable service and pleasure, I already have ratted enough back to get me some "butter" this weekend. Enjoy both !
Be At Peace.

I would go for the gun every time... And heres my reasoning: First you will most likely choose one of the better ladies here to see if you are going to choose them over a new weapon... You ight catch them on a bad day, you might be feeling a little under the weather yourself, or the chemistry might not be there.
With a new weapon, you can tweak it just the way you like it and have it for many, many, many years to come. You will have spare $$$ in the future for a lady.
If you should decide on a 1911 variant, let me know... I have 6 variants including 2 Kimbers, a Springfield, 2 Colts and a Tussy Custom. I have enough spare "hop-up" parts to build another three weapons (minus frame)...
