What's the deal with The Tubs?

Just read sagitrius's review of Jenni in the Tubs.  Maybe I need to get out more.  Where is this place?  How does it operate?  Cost?  Isn't it a target for vice?  Anyone have strong opinions on recommending it or not?

Thank you for your time.

I like it there a lot. But do not, I repeat do not take ure significant other there.  The chick at the counter got me busted when after taking a provider there and then my girlfriend a few days later she made some off hand comment about we being back so soon and if we enjoyed our time there the other day. Of course i played dumb with my now ex girl friend but a close call none the less.  Very nice atmoshpere.  Its past 70th on el cajon blvd.

I like it alot better than the Dolphine.  If you make a reservation for the VIP there is no standing around.  I tip 5 every time so they take good care of me.  It is 26 per hour for rooms you have to wait for, or 40 for the VIP and you get right in if you have reserved it (which can be done over the phone with NO name or Card. For 14 bucks more, I like the service and it is a much bigger nicer room.  Much nicer than the Dolphine.  Hot tub, Bed, BIG towels, Showers, sauna (wet and dry), b-room, TV (bring your own videos) Can bring your own beverages (alcohol OK)  They just put it in plastic cerafe if it is in glass.  Occassionally see street girls there, but see a few  other girls too.

I have only been to the tubs a few times, however every time has been pleasant.  I agree that the rooms are o.k., better than a hotel and ususally less expensive, but the V.I.P. room is the way to go.  You get alot more for just a few bucks.  Just bring a nice glass of wine, a movie, and you're good to go.  I live a short distance away, and I have a friend that lives real near there, and I don't know of any problems with vice associated with the tubs.  It's a relatively nice, relaxing experience.  I do know that police cars sometimes drive by (mostly late during the midweek nights) looking for street hookers, but they aren't really an issue.  In fact, I've never seen one in there (the street girls or police).  If you are considering the tubs, then I'd recommend it.  To get there off HWY 8 exit 70th street, then turn left onto El Cajon Blvd. (the light) and they are on the left hand side.  If you plan on going there on Fri, Sat, or Sun. anytime after about 4 p.m. I do suggest that you reserve a an apt. time to make sure you don't have to wait in the lobby.

Back in the 80's, the Tubs was notorius as a gay meeting house.

With AIDs, the business dropped off a lot and it underwent a change in reputation.

Now it's considered the place to go instead of the hourly motels.

They street walkers use it occasionally, but if they hang out a
lot SDPD and La Mesa PD chase them away.

I don't know if thye get hassled by LE much, but it is a clean place and the price is right.

The girl I work with there said that 2 men are not allowed, but two girls are, or any other combination as long as a woman is present.  They have done this to turn it away from being a gay establishment.

Thanks for all the input!  I'll give it a try sometime.....
