I appreciate the heads up!!
I am thankful that, like you, I screen thoroughly.
All the points you make about referrals is quite pertinent and benefits us and our gentlemen friends.
If you are not screening as a Provider - you are asking for trouble!
If you are not screened as a Hobbyist - you are asking for trouble!
I too wish everyone a happy and safe Hobby Day!!

It has only happened a couple of times in the past where someone has used my name as a reference that I have never seen.
I noticed lately it is happening on regular basis. I don't understand it.
I can only assume that certain men assume some ladies don't really screen. (?)

A number of these times ladies have texted me for referral referring only to the person's board handle. (?) Typically a provider needs a bit more information then that. For me it's feels odd to get a quicky text from someone I don't know, about someone I don't know.

I'm not sure what this is all about. I do fear that some ladies are taking risks with their safety.
I'd love for others to share if they are having this issue. I'm afraid a girl will think you're saying you don't know the man, because you don't want to give a referral. That may not be the case. Please be safe. Take the time to get a proper reference. Perhaps at least provide a real name and area code to the lady your contacting.

I can tell you that I do screen, therefore, I know people by their real name. I do not know people by their board handle.
Some other helpful hints in regards to me personally. My friends will most likely send me a email that you are going to call or write. Anyone I have met will most likely NEVER be calling you for a last minute appt., ESP! at 1- 2am.

Any insite from the men on why someone would give false references would be helpful as well.

Thank you and stay safe!

From my point of view I appreciate a provider that screens. It makes me feel safer. After initial screening, I still like to have at least one phone conversation just to check chemistry(yes I have changed my mind at this juncture). I had a difficult time getting statrted because of a lack of references but I perservered and managed. Now I have enough so it's not a problem. I can't see why guys continue to go the CL or BP route, although I did see that CL shut down their service recently. I always ask if the provider has a problem providing references.

Don't know if this is helpful but it seems to me that a potential client giving fake references is a sign of someone that is either fooolhardy or just plain stupid, completely inexperienced and perhaps naive, or a phsyco to be avoided entirely. What good could ever really come from giving fake references. In the end a dude giving fake references has no chance to see a highly rated provider but, unfortunately, the world does not suffer from a lack of the 3 characters described above. Personally I have no problems with a strict screening process and in fact would likely not see a provider that did not follow that process.
