I would stay away from Downtown. Parking is not that great not to mention the traffic downtown is usually bad. The Hyatt Regency in La Jolla is nice and it easy to get to. Parking is great (except on Wednesday nights) and it is close to the freeway. The Bahia is also a very nice hotel and it is located in Mission Beach.
It might be just me and my knowledge is dated from when I worked in the 'village' in the '80's, but traffic into and out of La Jolla was particularly tough in the late afternoon. Parking was also not the best, although probably would be OK if the clients can park in the Hotel lot.
There is a Hyatt Regency on La Jolla Village Drive, which is at the northern vertex of the 'golden triangle', bounded to the South by 52, the west by 5 and the east by 805. It might be a bit more centrally located, especially since population growth in San Diego has been the greatest along I15, extending to Escondido.
Hi Nicole- if you come to San Diego that would be awesome. I guess if you pick a hotel parking should be considered, ie., downtown, parts of La Jolla and parts of Del Mar can be a nightmare. Mission Vallley has good parking but isn't that easy to get to during rush hour (at leaset for me). I agree with the suggestion for the Hyatt. There is also an Embassy hotel (easy parking accross the street at the UTC Mall) and Raddison in the same general vicinity.
I once saw someone at this really nice hotel in Pacific Beach right on the strand overlooking the ocean and just a couple blks north of Crystal Pier. Then again I really only saw the room!
Nicole, I hope some of my fellow San Diegans believe me when I say you are the epitome of class, and that your pictures only hint at how lovely you are. I hope that SD treats you well, gentle lady.
Parking and traffic in downtown SD, at the Wyndham or any other hotel, is always a HUGE problem. You would be much better off staying in one of the hotels already mentioned in the La Jolla/UTC area. Stay well away from any of the hotels near the Convention Center, unless you're looking to get busted. Up here in La Jolla there are few if any one way streets, and in most cases you don't have to pay for parking. My incall location is in the La Jolla/UTC area, and I wouldn't move to downtown if my life depended on it! kisses Suzanne
