Any of you guys who enjoy TJ ever stay at the Pueblo Amigo? If so, how would you rate it and, is it cool to bring ladies up to the room? I'm planning a TJ visit next week and will probably stay over a couple of nights. Have heard the Pueblo is a first class hotel - friendly staff, excellent food, room service - and 3 minutes to the border. Actually, this might be a nice place to invite a SD provider :-)

It is a four star hotel.  No jacuzzi suites but all the rest of the typical US hotels amenities.

You can bring a chica into the hotel, but I suggest that you tell the concierge what your plans are ahead of time.   It always helps to make him your best buddy in situations like this.

You only have to walk across the street to the Spa and get a massage and extras from the cuties in there.  They even have a jacuzzi/massage room that you can play in with your choice of the staff.

Have fun....

How does the massage/spa place compare to the bars like Chicago, etc. in terms of quality?

I haven't been to the spa across from the Pueblo, but have been to a few of the other massage places in TJ. Generally speaking, there is a selection of 5-10 girls, among which you will usually find at least a couple of cuties. You pay the house for the hour massage ($30) then in the room make the deal for "extra services" with the girl ($80-100). It's more expensive than a 30 minute session at AB but about the same as an hour at AB plus you are getting an oftentimes decent massage. It's a nice quiet change of pace which I personally enjoy, especially since I am not much into the bar scene. And, FWIW, the massage girls are probably lower volume than the bar girls. Of course YMMV with service quality... I've had some great times and less than great but the girls are friendly and seem to appreciate the business.

Thanks for the info. I may end up at the Zaragosa which is acceptable but thought the Pueblo would be a nice change. I'll definitely check out the spa if I stay there! Haven't been to a massage place with jacuzzi which must add a whole new diminsion of fun. BTW, know of any *nice* and quiet hotels (not in the zona) with jacuzzi?

I stayed there Friday night.  It is a very upscale hotel.  I took my ATF from Adelita's and no eyebrows were raised.  As we were going up in the glass elevator, my amiga pointed out two other chicas having drinks with mongers at the bar.  $150. per night.

Pardon me for being so skeptical but I sincerely doubt it.

Maybe if she was a really good friend or something but todo la noche usually costs 3-4 bills at a minimum.

I can't speak for grooveze, but I think the $150 was in reference to the cost of the room, not an all-nighter with the chica. The hotel quotes $140 but with the taxes it would be a tad over $150. I ended up there for a couple of nights and it was $140 or $80 with a AAA card discount. Nice place, worth the money, but I didn't end up at the spa next door so can't report on that.
