I did this once years ago and can't remember the name of the woman. Anyway, I found a few women I'd like to meet this way but their pages say they need a reference to meet me. I'm 100% legit - how can I work this out? Thanks.

joining one of the verification sites like Date-Check or Preferred411. They work extremely well, and a lot of the ladies on TER are also on those sites, with reviews directly linked.
