in light of the AVN in Vegas, does anyone know of any new, different horizons porn has left to conquer?  in the span of a century, we've gone from b&w "french" postcards to porn on blu-ray, and from scantily clad, overweight white women to multi-cultural midgets.  is there anything, either content-wise or tech-wise, thats left to see/produce?  anyone seen the future at the AVN?

i can only think of 2 possible advances:

1. PORN IN 3-D:  it'll have to wait 'til enough people get sets, though.

2. BETTER QUALITY AMATEUR VIDS: as the price for high quality lighting and video equipment continues to go down, and as the stigma of porn continues to recede, i can imagine future amateur porn rivaling stuff coming from the big guys (vivid, wicked, hustler, etc)

There was an interesting demonstration of teledildonics coordinated to the porn.

That would be cool. It would be like Golden-Age porn, with modern production values.

I love the idea of real movies, with real/explicit sex. As we all know, there has been a small initiative to add hardcore elements to mainstream films ("Brown Bunny," "Intimacy," "9-Songs," etc.). My fondest (and most naive) hope, is that we'll see the day when big name actors are doing real sex scenes, in mainstream films. I think Private had some plans to try to make this happen.

I guess, then, that we'd be talking about a Hollywood/Porn Valley cooperation, as a new frontier for the adult film world.

Having a great director is one step, but to produce an award-winning movie you also need a good script and talented actors, said Gary Thoulouis, Privates director of marketing.

To get the right actors, Thoulouis explained that Private has decided to offer $1 million to Latoya Jackson to star in one of its future productions and is planning to make the same offer to Sophia Loren, to convince her to co-star in a Private production of an uncensored movie of her life.

These are not porn films, these are mainstream films produced by accredited directors and production companies, Thoulouis continued. We are also planning to make the same or better offers to personalities like Rebecca Romijn, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Yasmine Bleeth."

Erotic images already appear in many varieties and kinds of films shown in cinemas, like art-house films, horror/slasher films, erotic dramas, European films and many mainstream films. Milton explained that Privates entry into cinema intends to exploit this already established norm as it provides the adult viewer with professionally directed and produced films with popular actors.

like what could be better than actually FUCKING the hot chicks in porn?

tele-dildonics?  3d glasses?  i think not!

So I'm thinking the new trend is to down scale production even more to maybe 10-15 minute clips with just gonzo type sex with little to no story with new girls every week to reduce costs.

Unless technology changes to prevent content from being uploaded onto the free sites, the porn companies may be loathe to spend a lot of money of production.

3-D technology doesn't exist for TVs yet... except fot the blue/red glasses, it can't be done.  3-D glasses in movies are polarized with the lenses at 90 degrees to each other and the movies are also polarized so that the left lens blocks out the right lens information and visa-versa.

As for New Horizons, HOPEFULLY the sex won't get any more extreme... in fact after Max Hardcore's incarceration and Rob Black's prosecution, I think a lot of the really extreme content has subsided... in fact I'm shocked that the tube sites carry fisting scenes.

On the high end, I think you'll see more big budget CGI films... Digital Playgrounds Pirates I and II were the most expensive porn films ever made and included CGI that, while not rivaling Hollywood, were surprisingly good.  And the fact that there was a Pirates II, I'm assuming they were financially successful.

Technically, I think you'll see more dedicated streaming services, with devices that attach to your TV and let you stream porn flicks on demand for either a monthly fee or as pay-per-views.

Also, I think you'll see the big production companies like Vivid and Wicked embracing the internet, perhaps to the point where they will issues few or no DVDs.

When that happens, I also think you'll see production values of internet porn rise.

Didn't work with "Caligula" that Penthouse did.  Almost worked with that french movie by Catherine Brilliat (sp?) with Rocco Siffreddi.  Little-known "Aria" had some sex involved in the filming (and managed to make it work well).  Had an early Liz Hurley, and early Bridget Fonda, and B-porn actress Linzi Drew.

LaToya Jackson in some erotic scenes would be like watching a car accident. Sophia Loren might be nice.

We pornhounds like our porn just fine now.  Maybe better plots, but they have to mesh with the sex.  Otherwise, if the plot's too involved, the sex gets in the way and we'd fast-forward through the porn (there were some "golden-age" classics I did that to because the sex was making me forget about what the dialog was referring to).

We just want to see beautiful people get it on, doing various nasty things that we probably can't do in real life (due to moral, legal and hygienic reasons), but it would be nice if the intro and ending to the sex scene makes sense.

Sex scene endings always feel like 70s music done live on stage (of, say, Johnny Carson or the Mike Douglas Show, for those old enough to know those two):  the music doesn't end, the singers still sing, the drummer still drums, the guitarists still strum.  It's the board guy who slowing fades out the sound.  That's what porn is currently like when a scene ends:  fade out.  That transition is rather stale.

(Then again, isn't that what happens to everyone after sex?  Fade out and start snoozing.)

A small cruise ship, loaded with 75 starlets, pulls out with a boat load of hobbyists, and then you spend the week hobbying, eating, drinking, cruising, all while making gonzo content.  Guys could wear masks, if need be for the gonzo content.  The main cruise of the year could be like the World Series of Poker.  Every guy gets at least a random drawing chance of doing a scene with (insert the name of your fantasy here).

seriously, i'm with u.  i considered mentioning it, but i figured i'd get laughed out of the room!  i'd love some DECENT acting and some DECENT dialogue rather than the DRECK we SOMETIMES sit through until the sex scenes start.   a little build up is always nice...if its well done!
