Porn Stars

OK, so we've all seen the news.

I suspect he is referring to the latest news on Charlie Sheen who happened to be partying with several porn stars over the last few days. Only one of them has been vocal about the incident in the news and I guess she is the one that has been delisted on TER. I know the name of another one that was reportedly with him but that is another discussion.

And we're all posting about it.

And I am denying all the posts.

Hint: delisted providers cannot be discussed or mentioned on TER. So any post that mentions one goes in the trash.

So you might not want to mention certain names on this board if you want your post to remain for very long.

Thanks, and drive through.

... since I have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

Perhaps you could point out where I can learn this news that you think everyone knows about.

So if everyone is wondering why the news articles and discussions are disappearing, it's because you can't mention someone who is delisted from TER.

So thanks in advance for not naming certain names.

I realize there is a certain chicken and egg element in the question but how, other than having comments disappear, does one determine who is on the delisted list at any given point in time?
There may be such a list but a review of the TER website did not readily reveal its location.

It should change. It's silly to not allow this kind of discussion on a hobbying board of all places. If TMZ can talk about it and we can't, something's wrong.

For one thing, it prevents all kinds of shady practices.

For another, TER isn't TMZ.com- a site that promotes gossip and is part of the freak show of the modern media. You might want to reflect on why this is, and why someone might not want to participate in certain things.

Finally, providers do have some measure of ultimate control over their participation here, like it or not. And TER values privacy.

1)  Being a Moderator is a thankless job, and it ranks in popularity somewhere between a hall monitor and a traffic cop, so thank goodness someone is willing to do the "dirty job, but someone's gotta do it."

2)  Regarding delisting, it is a necessary form of regulation on TER.  Unregulated, uninhibited, unaccountable freedom is a fantasy most of us share.  But realistically, some form of rational screening is absolutely necessary.  Ironically, the small amount of regulation produces greater freedom in the long run.

I agree that delisting serves an important function. Needless to say, we all owe the the moderator's a great deal of gratitude and latitude.

The current double secret probation implementation, however, wherein no one knows who is out - presumably except for moderators- does stifle discourse and impedes the growth of this valuable service.

As an example, a message that mentions 2 porn stars never gets posted. Maybe the author can infer why their note never made the cut, however, by definition no other poster's have any idea that one or both of the lovelies are out. The original author may or may not be able tell either depending upon the back channel details.

Nuke enough of someone's messages for violating a rule they can't know about and they give up. Why bother?

If it was me, there would be a menu item hung, well hung I might suggest, from the main TER menu that lists the de listed and makes clear they cannot be discussed or reviewed.
Now its time to prepare for this week's snow storm. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot indeed.

A public list of delisted providers makes the point of using delisting as a way to to preserve privacy quite moot. You might as well use neon signs and searchlights to hide something.

The point of TER's delisting process is not to make it easier for you to dish celebrity gossip. Sorry if that inconveniences you.

The rules on this board are why many people have moved to other boards where such discussions ARE allowed, and, contrary to the opinion of this board's owners/moderators, no one's privacy is harmed and no one is "outed" because people self-moderate and behave themselves.

The fact of the matter is that I could go along with the "no talking about delisted providers" IFF that meant no talking about them AS A PROVIDER.  This is a board about porn stars.  There are discussions here not just about them providing but about their films, their careers, and other issues.  But, if we mention a movie by a particular lady who has been delisted, the message is removed even if it has nothing to do with whether or not she is or was a provider.  Same for UTR discussions, btw.

The rule that TER has is moronic.  Most people here, except the moderators, know it.
