I posted a very related thread on "the death of the hobby" validating your observations.
There are some recent signs of hope. In the last month, I've seen a few big new names appear as available with some of the popular agencies.
I do not think OnlyFans can get much more lucrative per provider than it is. There is unlimited supply right now -- everyone and her mother has heard the anecdotal story of Jane Doe quitting her job and making crazy money on OF. Providers are going to have to provide more for less to stay competitive.
The lifestyle for providers is not sustainable. Even with support crews doing most of their work for them, it is a daily grind that must be extremely emotionally draining. The same lame low level conversations all day, every day. Heart and kiss emojis. They STILL have not figured out an effective way to prevent pirating; in fact, providers are less quick to have pirated content taken down than did the big production companies.
I really have no idea how any consumer can be foolish enough to be part of OF. The only unique feature is the ability to have custom work made. That's a small part of the market, willing to pay substantial amounts. My understanding is quite a few of these customs can be pretty taboo. I know one major provider who has voluntarily quit OF because she just couldn't bear the requests she was getting. She can still make mega money providing, and that's what she's doing.
How many damn times can we watch a girl masturbate in front of an ipad, in an spare bedroom with poor lighting and rushed makeup?
I don't see them returning to production studios. At least not unless and until OF plummets to nothing a la MySpace. In that way, I unfortunately think we never return to the way things were, which were awesome for us by the way. Tons of high quality content was available, instantaneously and free, and stars were assumed to be providers until proven not providers.
But I do think it's possible that the holier than thous who have quit providing are going to warm to it again. Touring? Maybe not. But if you're willing to see them in their hometowns, I do think all of the above might inspire a few to come out of retirement. I am eagerly waiting by the way.
I also think if providers still use the production studios in addition to OF, that's a sign they will warm to it. If they're willing to take the time to be on set, it's a good sign.
Do your part to expedite this process. Spread the word. Cancel your subs. OnlyFans SUCKS. I want the talent to do well, but not at the expense of permanently warping their personalities and making them unavailable to us.
