But which porn girl in your opinion can actually act? We're not talking academy award here, but at least she can make a scene believable before/after the uh, "action."

The only one, or one of the few ones, that has had an actual acting role... Jenna.

She was awesome in the Howard Stern Movie, and great and actually funny in some B-movies she has done.

Tracie Lords has had an active career in mainstream films after leaving the biz....

A couple of low budget schlock films that went direct to video, something with Johnny Depp that nobody can remember, and a guest spot on an episode of "Married with Children."  

However, over the vast majority (all but one film) of her porn career she did do a pretty good job of acting as if she were an adult.

That movie "something with Johnny Depp that nobody can remember" was Cry Baby from the director John Waters. This was one of John Waters' best efforts and Tracy Lords rocked in her role. Her performance was great. I think she could have gone much further as a mainstream actress. Too bad public opinion wasn't in her favor because of her past as a porn actress.

Traci also had a recurring role in one season of Rosanne.  Her Wiki page actually lists dozens of movie and TV credits. In the vast majority of them she was typecast to be sure but if we are going to talk about an actual volume of work I can't think of any former PS who has done more.

She did a few mainstream things in which she had lines. One series was Space Above and Beyond, 4 episodes. She did other work uncredited or under a diffrent stage name plus body double work. Loved her look and a ATF.

Agreed, that is classic John Waters and she was awesome. She was also was in Blade (1st Movie).
I met her in the late 90s at a party of friends and she not that nice. Most of the people did not care she was in porn, I bet most didnt even know who Tracy Lords was. From what I recall she looked hot and was with some guy that looked like he just came off the farm, he was cool.

In terms of non-porn work, I'd say Traci Lords or Tracy Lords or Traci Elizabeth Lords or however she's credited outpaces all other porn actresses.

You would have to give Kelli McCarty a nod; plenty of b-movies and a long stint on a soap opera. Even though she has done one porn movie up to this point.

Marilyn Chambers was the first to really have a mainstream career and end up in porn. In her day of making porn movies at least they acted a little bit.

Teri Weigel has had little parts in movies and TV which probably amount to 60 minutes in total face time; but she was a bad actress; which even comes across in her adult movies.

Traci Lords has had the longest and steady mainstream career. She even has had a musical career too. She will have a mainstream for many years to come. Funny she went from porn to mainstream the rest mentioned [except Sasha] have gonna mainstream to porn. Which is much easy to do!

Sasha Grey may end up as the best actress when it's all said and done.

A few more roles than I thought.  I just wasn't too impressed with her acting in that "Married with Children" episode.

Another thing.  I can't respect anyone who "outs" herself as being under age just so every porn movie (but one) with her in it becomes a felony to possess. For the one porn movie that she made after she turned 18, she was the producer and copyright holder.  That way an artificial shortage of her porn work was created, making that last movie of hers more valuable.

On a related note, I once saw Ginger Lynn in a "mainstream" low budget action flick on HBO.  She was a decent actress (but the movie sure did suck).

I think the reason she "outed" herself was a deliberate decision calculated to separate her completely from her porn days so she could make it as a legitimate actress.  By getting all of the videos off the shelf, they were no longer around to remind people that she used to do porn...  I think it was a cold, calculated, deliberate move on her part.

As for Ginger Lynn... she also tried to make it in mainstream but, frankly, she just wasn't that good an actress with her clothes on.  She was on "Silk Stalkings", "NYPD Blue", and had a recurring role on an SF show called "Super Force."  At the time, I heard rumors that she was dating the star of that show: Ken Olandt.  She was also in the "Vice Academy" and "Wing Commander" movies, and had starring roles in "Bound and Gagged: A Love Story", "Ultimate Taboo", as well as smaller parts in "Whore", "The Stranger" and "The Last Late Night" - all of which were legit non-porn roles. She also starred in Metallica's music video "Turn the Page."

According to imdb: Ginger was approached by the FBI to testify on behalf of Traci, and when she refused, Ginger was arrested for tax evasion and spent time in prison.
