The truth/reality Re: Porn Star-Hosted Club Parties

This is a REPOST of a previous post I made over a year ago on this very topic....VERY relevant to the issue at hand

Fellow Hobbyists…let me vent for a lil bit….

For the past few years, I have seen many pornstar-sponsored parties at clubs advertised in South Florida (where I am at) as well as other places.  I have been to quite a few of them, and I am convinced that they seem to follow the SAME formula/format:

Or

{Pornstar posts/Advertises/Tweets} Come party with me at Club Spice in South Beach.  I am hosting a party..Stop by and say hi.

When one actually goes, this is what usually happens…..

-Arrive at club…

-Line size is variable…

-Once you get in, the music is SO DAMN LOUD; you have to literally scream to talk to someone 2 inches away from you.  No place to have a meaningful conversation with anyone.

-OVERPRICED DRINKS…$15-20 for a watered down drink

-Highly UNLIKELY you will ever meet/interact with the porn star sponsoring the party.  Once she arrives, do you noticed how they are quickly swept up into a cordoned-off blocked-off VIP area where they are chillin with their “peeps” and don’t interact with anyone else?  You cannot interact with her because she is isolated in her own VIP area with her entourage.  

-The ONE chance you MAY get a glimpse of her would be if she is up in the DJ booth and the DJ is giving shout-outs to her and others.

After seeing that same pattern repeat itself over and over again throughout the past few years, I have decided to forever BOYCOTT pornstar-sponsored parties at clubs.  Unless she tells you and PROMISES you HERRSELF that you can chill with her in her VIP section and can hang with her, I do not see the purpose of attending these ridiculous club functions.  It is not as if you are making any hobbying deals inside the club or will have any significant interaction with her.  Plus, if you have to scream to talk to anyone, how is that a meaningful interaction??

Just my $0.02.  Anyone have any thoughts on this matter??

Best places to meet & actually interact are the trade shows, AEE, AdultCon & the like

These venues have their drawbacks as well but from what I've seen, it's not a bad way to get to actually talk to some of the talent.  I've been spoiled because I've attended these as an exhibitor so I'm there with people in the industry, which obviously helps grease the meet & greet skids.  But if you time it right, you can have the opportunity to have at least a brief chat with whomever is there.

As with everything, there can be a downside, even if you know people.  One of the obvious ones is it is always surprising to me how some of the girls are downright hostile, which strikes me as odd, since you would think the point of being there would be to endear yourself to your fans.  I've met Sophie Dee on at least three occasions and she was a screaming bitch each time, without any provocation I can remember (I don't even drink!).  Indeed, the last time she actually came into our booth to talk to one of the girls and was rude then, which seems to cross some sort of boundary!  

I also had a very unpleasant conversation with Tory Lane at AVN.  She and her husband got on the elevator one morning as we were heading down to the show floor and her husband was all over my companion like white on rice.  Being the gentleman that I am, I tried to engage in a conversation with Ms. Lane, who's attitude was something along the lines of "who the fuck do you think you are and why would I possibly deign to speak to you?"  Now, I get that she was upset that her husband was being SO obvious about wanting to get into Nikita's pants, which was a tad bit disrespectful but still, it wasn't like I was being a jerk, asking her things like "how many cocks have you sucked?"  Just trying to make polite small talk but she wasn't having any of it!

On the other hand, I have also had some very positive experiences.  India Summer is very lovely, elegant, engaging and gracious young woman.  She was the opposite of above, friendly and accessible.  Indeed, she even offered to help me out with an administrative issue I was having with the show management.  Nicki Hunter was very cool and personable as well.  

Obviously, the point is, you pays yer money, ya takes yer chances!  If you haven't been to any of these and are any sort of porn aficionado, you should probably at least once. AVN, while declining on all accounts, is probably still the best one, especially for a larger number of possibilities

I've never been to a porn star hosted party.  

However, I've been to strip clubs where porn stars have performed.  I've been to shows like Exxxotica.
And in both locations I've had some success in sitting and chatting with porn stars, and even arranging dates.  It depends on the location, and the star and sometimes how much you're willing to spend for drinks, private dances, or whatever the club or the star are trying to sell.

Someone posted elsewhere that Tory Lane was a bitch to him.  I met Tory and she wasn't a bitch to me.  I wasn't trying to get into her pants either (not my type).  But I was talking with her and her friend Amy Brooke at Exxxotica and having a fun time.  I'm not in the industry and I'm not particularly good-looking or anything.  I guess the circumstances make a big difference.  Or maybe it's all in the attitude.

I had the same problem w/Sophie about a year ago & posted about it on here. I went to the Legends of Erotica Party a few years ago when Sunset Thomas was inducted into it. I got to talk to Stephanie Swift for a little bit there, really nice but I ended up talking to Shane (PS from the 90's) for the longest time there, extremely down to earth.  I then went to Randi Wright's party. It was ok and she was stoked that I came to hang w/her but she didnt realize I had to pay $20 to get in, which pissed her off since she told the people well in advance I wasnt supposed to pay to get in. It was very loud and I was exhausted so I stayed a little bit but I got to talk to her a little bit before she was taken to her roped off VIP area for the rest of the night.
