I posted a version of this below as a reply to a specific question, but thought it was important enough to post again so as not to get lost. There are quite a few newbies on this board who are looking for their first PSE, but often end up in a catch-22 situation of needing a reference in order to book their first choice directly.
Getting started in this hobby with PSE's is not all that easy. There are guys on this board who continually tell you to NEVER USE AN AGENCY. I don't subscribe to that theory, especially for newbies. While many PSE's will see guys directly (and some just will not), they will usually want to do some kind of screening, which will typically include references from other PSE's. So, how does one get started (the ole chicken/egg riddle)?
My suggestion would be to do one of the following:
1. There are PSE's who book direct without requiring a references from other PSE's, however they will typically require other screening info. They may or may not be in your top choice list, but I can guarantee that there are MANY who will blow you away! Just do your research here on TER. If you don't have a TER VIP membership, then your ability to do research will be limited. If you're serious about seeing PSE's, the small investment in VIP membership is truly mandatory.
2. If you must see a particular PSE and can't do it direct, book her through an agency. You'll pay a bit more than if you were able to go direct, but you're not going to be able to see her anyway at this point. When you see her, do your best to befriend her and get direct contact info. If you feel the chemistry is right, you can even ask her if she would be a future reference for you.
In any case, once you see your first few PSE's, make sure that you review them here on TER. Some PSE's will even use your TER handle as a possible screening process. When you contact them (I find email to be best for first contact), tell them a little about yourself, how many ladies you've seen, which PSE's, refer them to your reviews on TER (with your username). Once you build up a few reviews here PLUS a few PSE's willing to vouch for you, you'll be on your way ![]()
Even to this day, with all my connections and credentials, I still use agencies to get to those MUST-SEE girls that I am not able to get through to directly.
Best,
Sly
maybe it should be on the newbie board instead of taking up so much space here, you don't hold the whole class back for a few slow students. Oh one other thing "credentials"? what are you, licensed to fuck? (lol) class what Sly is trying to tell you is that he has seen lots of women.

Great post Sly! It seems that jldick50 just likes to argue about everything, which makes him a real DOWNER!!!
It's obvious that you care for us PSE newbies. While most of us are not "Newbies" per the definition of TER (and therefore not even looking at the Newbie Board), we are newbies with PSE's. I don't know why jldick50 doesn't recognize the difference???
He complains about taking space up on the board, and then doubles the space taken by adding his DOWNER post?
Keep up the great work Sly!!! This board has become a great place to visit since you and fasteddie took over!!!

I will let you look up the definition, if you're not familiar with the word. Theres nothing wrong with Sly's post and I said I thought it was great, it just belongs on the newbie board, befor you come to this board you should have seen a few regular providers and know the basics.

I think there's a fundamental difference in booking a PSE and a regular provider. The difference between booking a pornstar through an agency or booking her direct can be $600 or more, while regular providers average $350 to $500 whether direct or through an agency. Plus agency girls usually do not have a presence on the web... no websites, no movies, etc. so there's little chance of getting direct contact information for them. So I think Sly's primer for newbie PSE hobbyists is appropriate for this board.

is it jdflick...lick...or little dick
Let's not get testy here. We're all friends ![]()

That's a good one Jim! I'll have to use that in my next conversation with a PSE I'm trying to book.
I'm sorry that you disagree with my "taking up so much space here". I guess as moderator, I get to make space useage decisions for myself - there's got to be some benefit!
I personally feel that there are a lot of guys on this board who have seen a lot of providers (making them not "newbies") and are trying to book their first PSE. Just trying to help ![]()
Anyone else on this board have an opinion (positive or negative) about my space useage?
Sly
I thought it was informative. There are certain people on this board that always have "nothing" to say. And before I get flamed there are many of us who have seen multiple PSE's and dont post reviews.
There's really no rule that says you have to submit reviews to participate here, so I certainly will not flame you or anyone for that. I would encourage everyone to submit reviews for the good of the community AS WELL AS for your own good, giving you the ability to use TER as one of your "referenes" in booking PSE's. Telling pornstars that I have multiple reviews on TER (including many with PSE's who can be used as references) has helped me to meet ladies I never dreamed I'd be able to meet (even before I had 100 reviews here).
Now for the guilt trip (LOL):
I would also ask each of you whether you use the TER reviews for your own hobbying. If the answer is yes, isn't it only fair that you reciprocate for those guys whose reviews you used? That has always been the main driving force for me in submitting reviews of everyone I've met (except for those who asked not to be reviewed), as I am always using the reviews here.

...I must admit that these days I never mention review handles when trying to book a girl, PSE or not. I've found that some take a dim view of internet reviewers and it puts them on alert. I've even been refused in the past by agency girls in the UK who were aware that I regularly wrote reviews on the local sites.
If it has worked for you in the past then well done. Our situation is slightly different in that in Europe, the need for references and screening are not as widespread as in the States. If a London girl wanted my work telephone number before seeing me, I'd laugh. Different legal regime and way of doing things I suppose.
...quite remarkable. Wonder how that happened, LOL.
Gremlins or somebody with an over active refresh key?
But I find your posts a refreshing contrast to the vanilla posts that proliferate the board these days.

...at least I think thanks is the appropriate response ![]()
Sly,
I will admit to sometimes feeling a bit guilty about my lack of posting reviews. My primary reason is simply to remain under the radar as much as possible. My one review to date was because I was asked very nicely to do so and although I was reluctant, I did with complete honesty because the session was so wonderful. I have had providers ask me to not post a review and I'm happy to abide by this request because I'd rather not anyway. On the other hand, I do pay for my membership so to this extent I'm paying for the helpful info I get from TER. That being said I woould make this promise to fellow hobbyists.... If my review is just going to add another 8, 9, 10 combo to a long list of existing 8, 9 10s then I'll pass. If my session is a first (honestly..not likley) or if it is significantly different than previous reviews then I'll post a review. I'm sure my lack of posts will hurt in the reference dept. at some point but for now I'll respectively lie low.
...as a reviewer you never know who is following your track. If you wrote the reviews in an appropriate way there is no need to be identifiable.
At the end of the day anybody who does not feel comfortable writing reviews should not. It is not an obligation, but there would not be much of a site if most people took that view.
I have a different take. I always try to post a review because as hobbyists, that is our main resource. The exception is if I am asked UP FRONT not to. More than just the numbers, there are descriptions of do's and dont's, likes and dislikes that definently make the experience better for both parties going in. I am hesitant to post because 1)There are those far more articulate than I and 2)I don't have much to say on a day to day basis.
I submit reviews because I'm doing my best to add to the pool of valuable information out there, especially since if there are only a few reviews of some lady, she might be suspected of publishing her own reviews. Also, it's been my experience that a provider's performance can change over time -- sometimes for the better, and sometimes not. I think it's useful for us to have a large set of datapoints to say, "OK, she's maintained that excellent performance for the last 15 months -- I should get an excellent performance if I see her."
I haven't bit the bullet and jumped into the PSE field yet, but I do enjoy reading the postings here on this board. As far as "using up too much space"... puh-leeeez. I have yet to run across a TER thread that I couldn't bypass with a couple of punches of the "Page Down" key. Total time elapsed: maybe half a second, tops.
You get a star next to your name, go to the front of the class.

It's given me such a woody, I doubt it'll go down for hours. Bring on the ladies.
Great post Sly. Want to add to it: Start with a PSE (with an excellent rep) that's had a website for a WHILE that she runs herself. That way if you get a girlfriend after that first PSE and see your next PSE like a year later, that PSE (that you previously saw)'s site WILL STILL BE ONLINE and you can use her as a reference. It's best to see girls that are organized and have been in the industry for a while (for future verification purposes). Also if you don't see a PSE after that for a few years, see a famous well-organized escort and then use her for a reference for future PSEs.
Always be nice/courteous/respectful to every girl you see. If you short-change a girl, act disrespectful, ask her for more than what was agreed on for the price, et al, you may lose your chances of seeing a girl in the future you REALLY want to see because the word gets around. It's a big industry and also a small one.
