I'm gonna do it !
Go to the 2015 AVN Expo and take a decent amount of money (hopefully around 10K) for some pornstar punting I am just wondering how it works during the AVN expo. Can you go around the expo and politely ask the pornstars whether they 'provide' ? Will that get you kicked out, will it offend some of the pornstars ? I just really like that idea over trying to book through an agency beforehand. I like the idea of walking around, seeing who i think is hot and seeing if they are available Any feedback on the AVN expo and how to approach the punting aspect is appreciatedAbsolutely not! Don't EVER approach a girl at the expo that way. That shit will get you ignored, cussed out, or worse. Come on dude. There are sooo many ways to go about this. But in my opinion, unless you know someone personally in the industry like i do, you are much better off booking through either Helpubookher2 or Theluxurycompanion. Personally,The girls i expressed interest in have already performed for or with my friend who is a heavy hitter and knows EVERY damn body, so it's just a matter of him making the intro for me. As for you, i recommend going through one of the aforementioned agencies. The girls simply feel more comfortable letting a 2nd party handle all their appointments. Ashley at Helpubookher2 is a sweetheart and will lead you to the perfect the girl that will meet all your needs. Just tell her exactly what you are looking for and prepared to be screened thoroughly. She really takes care of her girls. Adonia at Theluxurycompanion also has a great rep. The budget you have will actually go a long way guy. I'll be there as usual. Know this though: Most of the girls in Vegas for the AVN are there to shoot scenes for their own websites as well as others. For example, Brazzers is based in Vegas and they do a ton of shooting during the Avn's. So THAT along with PROVIDING means the girl's schedules are very tight. You have to book in advance. That's ANOTHER reason you can't simply approach a girl at the Expo and expect her to make an appointment to see you. Hope that helps.
But I will warn you, you can't just go right up to her and proposition her on the spot with a line of people waiting behind you. You have to catch the girl and a decent mood and develop a little bit of a repoire with her. If you can make her laugh a little and she asks you if you want an autograph or something like that politely decline and pull out $10,000 in 100's and you'll do okay. You'll have to wait until no one else is around, most girls will not admit to escorting in front of another person. AVN is nothing more than a chance for this girls to meet clients and make money. It doesn't hurt if you are good looking or if the girl enjoys your sense of humor. Most girls who do porn and who also escort make far more money escorting than they do filming. It's kind of more like meeting women at are bar and convincing them to leave with you, except you have a couple of thousand to do the final talking for you, if you get yourself that far with a girl who you already know has sex for money. You just can't come off as weird, creepy, or desperate. I would only try this with girls who you know to escort though. I've done this at strip clubs with a few pornstars and it's worked quite well, there has only been one girl who said no and she was very polite about it. She didn't even really decline, she's was just looking for far more money than I would spend on her

DikP is exactly right... if the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, then the way to a porn stars pussy is through her pocketbook.
While I agree with my friend above that approaching girls on the convention floor and asking "do you escort," is probably not the way to go, I am one who tends to go with the flow and not plan ahead so much. I, too, have a number of connections in the industry (not bragging, DikPman, just fact), have gone to AVN twice, the second time actually had a booth there to promote my business (as well as a well-known star's website) and found that working/arranging things with adult entertainers, particularly in that frenzied environment, could very well be where the phrase "herding cats" originated.
That said, I would stick to the basics, watch for whomever posts here right before the show and keep your options open. There are literally hundreds of women there and they’re not all booked 24/7. Myself, I prefer going with the independent girls, knowing that they get all of the donation and I’ve found their rates to be more competitive.
I will note that while blatantly approaching girls with inquiries, there can be less obvious ways to do it. A friend of mine who was helping at our booth took major shining to a rising young starlet one day. When it was appropriate, I sidled over to her and her “manager,” made some inquiries and returned with the info that she was available for 900/hour. This was also entertaining since this was my friend’s first contact with all of that and he was flabbergasted, “What, these girls do that too?!?” Dude, these chicks have sex for a living, there’s nothing magic about the camera!
Finally, I definitely agree with DikPman, your attitude can make a huge difference, as in most of life. And you do not have to be good looking, TRUST me on that one but making people laugh seems to always help. Just be discreet and remember to do what my mother always told me, “treat all women like they’re ladies, even if they’re not!” If she had any idea how well that was going to work later in a strip club or on the AVN convention floor, she mightta kept her yap shut
I need to add an anecdote to my on the floor is not the best place to inquire. There are exceptions: I became friendly with a pornstar who was involved in "arranging meetings." We were just conversating and she brought it up and we were talking openly about. She then went to a couple P-stars to discuss their availability. So, as Corwin states knowing someone and how you go about it makes a big difference. But, it's typically not the place.
I would consider contacting at least one agency to get vetted. If you are set on approaching ladies I would think about trying to approach them off the expo floor as the ladies might not be able to honestly answer your questions.
I think a lot of you guys overestimate the value of bring friendly with someone in that industry and underestimate the value of money to these girls. I don't care if your friendly with anyone in the adult industry or, it doesn't matter. If you aren't grotesque, have bad hygene, creepy, or incredibly social awkward you will eventually become friendly with a girl if you see her more than once. Sure, it doesn't hurt to have one or more girls vouch for you to another girl you are interested in seeing. However, if money is no object to you, then you can buy pretty much anyone of these girls and have them do just as much as anything you've seen them do video if not more as long as you are willing to shell out the cash. At the end of the day these girls are just highly valued and glorified prostitutes and we are guys with tastes that exceed our means and enough money to temporarily bridge the gape between what we feel we are entitled to and what we actually get.
Thanks to everyone who replied
Really interesting and invaluable information ![]()
I haven't posted here for a few years- just busy working and when I have logged on- it was just to check on friends/clients of mine.
I agree with the comments and advice of Robbin Young.
I have attended AVN/AEE for business for 20+ years.
As long as you take her advice and of others- you should have a fun time at 2015 AVN- I always have a blast and like Robbin- I get to celebrate my birthday as well during AVN- looks like Robbin and I have the same birthday's- Jan. 20th
The first day of AVN is typically a Trade-Only Day (Adult Industry People)- try to go the very next day- when they open up in the morning- usually around 10-11am- to get the most of your money you will spend for a badge. Also remember- if you look at the schedule and see when the AVN Awards take place- if you decide to go on the trade show floor again- go EARLY- since even though the show goes on till like 5pm or so- most of the people (both men and female talent) will probably be leaving early or not even go the last day of the show- since they will be going back to their rooms to get ready for the AVN Awards- since red carpet and early pictures can start around 6pm- even though the AVN Awards typically don't start till like 8/8:30pm- This year the red carpet went a different route compared to previous years at the Hard Rock- much longer!
If you see a female talent you like at the trade show or anywhere around HRH- just be considerate and try to be subtle in asking questions regarding their "time". Since there is always the chance the person asking might be "LE"- so remember that when asking. And like various people have stated- don't bring up that you brought- as you mentioned- 10K to party with.
Remember to book your hotel as early as you can- since RATES will go up much higher the closer to the date- personally I try to book early and I always- stay at a different hotel- just have to get away from the craziness- last 3 years- I've stayed at ARIA and this year in an ARIA Sky Suites accommodation with my client(s).
Again, enjoy AVN 2015- granted it probably won't happen but it would be nice if they moved the convention to a STRIP property as they did for many years- but I have a feeling that it will be at HRH (I am not the only person who wishes they move back to the STRIP). See you at AVN 2015!
