Talent Testing Service

I am just wondering why they don't test for Herpes in their Gold Standard Panel.

Will they ask for ID and will they accept cash/gift card for payment?

For those who's wondering why I am checking them out, it's because I recently contacted someone who requires STD test result from them or it's no kissing and cbj only. I thought maybe someone here might know the answer.

I've used them. They are quick and easy to use.

I don't really have a sense of why they don't include a herpes test, but I am guessing it has something to do with the realities of why the service is used. So, an accurate blood test for herpes has to take place 12 weeks after contracting the virus. the TTS service is trying to assess that you are STD free on a week to week, if not month to month basis.

But like I said, I don't really know why. Good luck!

I've used them a few times, find their service reliable and very quick...

I haven't used TTS in a couple of years, they asked for ID and of course they accept cash....I prefer CET just because its a little more convenient....It's about a quarter mile from where AIM used to be located....I remember the days when AIM was the only (testing) place around, sometimes I'd go in there and the place was packed w/porn stars...

Yes,ID is required and they do accept cash. The first time I went there that's how I payed.
It was $155. I think it's still the same.
I'm pretty sure that you cannot pay with a gift card.

They are pretty fast and professional.
The only draw back is that the main headquarters is really really far up in Northridge.
They mention on their webiste that you can test at various draw centers in L.A(and elsewhere) but it's like another $60, plus I wouldn't trust/want to go to a "middle man" that's why I always visited the original test center on Reseda Blvd.

Oh and for the other thing that you mentioned,NOBODY in the industry tests for hpv, herpes, mycoplasma, ureoplasma.

Most people in adult industry already have it :) so if they bothered testing for that, then there would be less less work for the talent and the studios.

Hope I didn't scare you,but that's the way it is.
Have fun :)

Since they don't test for it, it's reasonable to conclude that most people have it by now. My guess as to the motive would be cost saving. Since they didn't do STD test before the law requires it, they are probably doing the minimum of what the law requires now. Yes, I am scared, but that doesn't mean I can't have fun. I just need to be smart. As long as I am willing to pay, I don't think it would be a problem if I request cfs, cbj, and no daty.

I just had a full STD screen as part of my routine physical and asked my Doctor the same question.  He said the test is not reliable.  Anyone with cold sores or other types of oral ulcers will test positive, even if they've never had genital herpes

I think you need to talk to your doctor again. Sorry, but this isn't quite right, or at least it isn't the whole story. It's true that STD panels often don't include HSV for a variety of reasons. However, I believe folks in the hobby should take a bit of a closer look.

There ARE type specific blood tests for HSV1 and HSV2. (Yes, there is a certain rate of false positives and negatives as with almost any test, but there are ways to confirm if a question is raised.) Either type can be either oral or genital infection, but 1 is usually oral and 2 is almost always genital.

Testing for HSV1 is not commonly done because it is quite prevalent, and the majority of infections are oral rather than genital infections (Though this is starting to change, presumably because oral sex has been gaining popularity.) and have minimal serious complications.

HSV2, often called genital herpes, can be a little more serious, but is much less common and the majority of cases are genital infections rather than oral.

CDC does not recommend type specific preventative testing in the general population because of all this.  And because of that, doctors can't usually get it done. Basically, doctors can't get the insurance companies to do anything without a "good reason", noted as a code on a form somewhere. However, that is for the general population, notice that testing is recommended for individuals with multiple sex partners.

If you were open with your doctor about the hobby and he or she still brushed off the HSV question, you may try another doctor. Or, depending on where you live, you may be able to just go to a lab and self request it. You'd just have to pay for it.

It is believed to be extremely common for people infected with HSV2 to be unaware of the infection, or at least to have never gotten a clinical diagnosis. Asymptomatic cases do exist, and in those cases the person is shedding virus on about 10% of days. If the risk is there, nothing wrong with running a test.

Not trying to freak anyone out. We all know this comes with risk, it's all about minimizing risk and deciding what level of risk is acceptable to us. At any rate, a little surveillance occasionally is a good idea.

thats a service for major companies and you are better off going to doctor to do full panel.
tt tt doesnt test for hsv because most everyone has it in their body anyway. if u ever had chicken pox/shingles or a high fever blister, its in your body laying dormant. that doesnt mean youll ever get any symptoms.
you have to pay 90 over the phone with a cc and the lab place is 250ish. total ripoff its free some place and your dr takes ins.
