I am hearing over and over from Porn Stars that it is getting harder and harder to find work. Some say that they have never seen it this bad. So if studios are only paying 500 dollars for an anal scene to some girls, why should us hobbyists pay 1500+? I understand that it is the girls perogative and that she can charge whatever she feels...but lets think of this from an economic point of view. Shouldn't prices be going down, or would girls rather just not make as much money? I recently tried to set something up with a "agency" that I've used numerous times in the past. I've never had a problem as far as not flaking and I've never tried to haggle down the girls, in fact, tipped very well. This last time, I was hit with a "We now need a 2oo$ deposit before we can arrange any girl". I work very low under the radar and will not be subjected to a paper trail because I have to leave a deposit...I guess I am just venting a bit, as I have been in this hobby for quite some time now, am fairly young and don't understand why when the girls are not making any cash in porn, I'm being treated like a noobie john...just not feeling it.
Hell, if I were a porn star with no kids or mortgage, I would use this time to take a vacation. Maybe come back when the money was better or just find a new line of work.

It's been a while since i sent any deposits..I generally don't have an issue w/sending a small cash deposit (actually once sent a larger deposit for a custom video shoot) if it was requested...And i would only send the deposit if it was the appt. i seek...
I have no intentions to drop my prices, I'm also not working less. Although I'm a porn star, I do not charge the really high rates, so maybe thats why I'm not as slow as you say others are saying they are. If you go through an agency, you need to realize that the agency sets the price and it does not all go to the girl. Also, I don't know of anyone paying 500 for an anal scene. Most legit performers with a clue certainly will not do an anal scene for that low. In fact, my price for my scenes have not gone down, I'm getting paid more than I have in the past.
Comparing how much a porn star gets for a scene to how much she gets for a private session may not be a valid comparison. They are really two different markets. It is like comparing what a baseball player makes in the major leagues versus the minor leagues. Perhaps, a better explanation as to why the prices haven't dropped as much in the world of hobbying is because there are many more hobbyists out there today than there were just a few years ago. Prices are always driven by supply vs demand and we know that the number of porn stars providing has increased, so if the prices haven't dropped then the demand must be increasing as well. The economy may be bad but it isn't as if we are at 50% unemployment.

Prices have dropped. Certainly from the Bella models cartel days. The place they really drop is when you know a girl. If you pay all expenses to visit, and you really hit it off, you can usually see her for the day/night/evening for what you paid for an initial 2 hour visit. There are ALOT of girls looking for dates. Now, you can't expect someone to jump on a plane for $500, but you can get a day long or afternoon long visit for $2k.
The person who started this thread seems to come off as a bit prissy, cheap and ignorant. I have NEVER EVER head of a girl getting paid only $500 for an anal scene even if she is swindled. So that right there is a false statement. If you can't pay to play you need to cash out!!!! I charge more for direct bookings then when the client uses certain agencies.... why may you ask? bc i charge for the time it takes me to reference check, background check in some cases.... over all I do work with some guys, we all have a bottom line and budgets.
