Anyone in favor of 300 club, plz write to site admins!
I'm not letting this go. Im very concerned about the loss of Kevin's enlightening weekly postings.
I encourage everybody to click on the contact us button, and write the site if you want the 300 club back right here where it started.
You guys have it good. I've been pretty liberal on this board and have bent the rules often, and TER has given me much more leeway than almost any other board on this site.
For all you conspiricy theorist out there, nobody influenced our decision to end the 300 Club as it presently stands. There's no "powerful" well known provider, as one poster alluded to; it wasn't a bunch of PSEs threatening to leave the board...
Kevin's a good guy and we thank him for the effort her put into it. But the fact remains that the 300 Club is clearly counter to the TER guidelines... mea culpa, I let it slide; recent events by one or two other posters have made it necessary to crack-down on the rules somewhat for the overall benefit of the board, and if you do it for one you have to do it for everybody. KevinRoby and the 300 Club happen to be the "collateral damage"; it's as simple as that.
So stop your belly-aching... Be thankful that it ran for as long as it did; a similar type of list wouldn't have seen the light of day on any of the regional boards. And the list doesn't change all that much, so if you want to see it just do a search for the last post.

I think if the rules are counterproductive w/r/t sharing information and good discussion about porn stars (and how we can give them steel engravings of dead presidents for collection purposes), we need to figure out how we can work around that. That's why the 300 Club's been ported over to a new site (and I plan on updating it, cleaning up formatting issues, making the links "live and so on).
The last damned thing I want is to rules lawyer this forum to death, since it's a great forum- yet it seems that's what I am doing. And while I've actually been a forum mod behind the scenes for some time (since last year), I am not the kind of player here Eddie's been. So maybe we need someone else other than me helping him out. As I've been saying, this isn't about me, this is about having a great resource.
Look, I don't have any issue with something like the 300 Club being put elsewhere (the format on this board, spreading over like 20 posts, was always ugly anyway).
The "shill post" thing seems to be causing the most problems, since you;ve rules lawyered "shilling" to include basically anything we can say about our interactions with providers, which means the only posts left are ads and arguments. That's actually quite insulting to a lot of the members of this forum, who are basically being told that they aren't being honest, no, they're shills for the providers. Lighten up on that, stick to knocking out only posts which are clearly ads rather than anything informative or where one guy is repeatedly posting about the same lady, and we're done.
There was this kid I grew up with; he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me, you know. We did our first work together, worked our way out of the street. Things were good, we made the most of it. During Prohibition, we ran molasses into Canada... made a fortune, your father, too. As much as anyone, I loved him and trusted him. Later on he had an idea to build a list of porn stars available at reasonable rates. That kid's name was Kevin Robby, and the list he invented was the 300 club. This was a great man, a man of vision and guts. And there isn't even a plaque, or a signpost or a statue of him on this board! Someone put a bullet through his eye. No one knows who gave the order. When I heard it, I wasn't angry; I knew Kevin, I knew he was head-strong, talking loud, saying stupid things. So when he turned up dead, I let it go. And I said to myself, this is the business we've chosen; I didn't ask who gave the order, because it had nothing to do with business!
He made his bones when most of us were going out with GFE's dressed as cheerleaders.
Nice.....and yes, Kevin did provide an outstanding service.

I might the lone dissenter here, but the list needed to be remove from this board as it did not follow TER guidelines. As Bob has stated before, the list contained delisted TER providers, how many of you like getting calls from solicitors when you placed your phone number on the do not call list?
There were porn stars on that list that were from other sites that do not participate or even know about this board. Imagine how awkward that conversation can be?
As it was mentioned before and is being addressed now, the list contains inaccuracies regarding contact information and locations.
But the most critical issue I saw with the list were the rates; Were those rates confirmed by the ladies? Were the pulled from the reviews or was that a special rate one person got and then was posted for all to see even thought that rate was not meant for everyone else? We do know and I don't think any porn stars would like that to happen to them.
If everyone is so eager to see that list back on this board, then go to that list and email/call every single lady on that list and invited them to the TER Porn Star Board. Ask them to come introduce themselves to the board, get to know the guys on the board and most importantly ADVERTISE on this board. What good is a porn star board if we DON'T have porn stars to talk too. I can only count a handful of regular Porn Star posters on this board and that list contains over a hundred, we have room for more pornstars here.
If that list is going to be maintained off TER, I strongly suggest you get the permission/acknowledgment from the pornstars on that list, so they know about and don't get blind sighted with it.

I couldn't have said it better. The big offender in this whole thing was it being posted each and every week, taking up half a page. and providing false or incorrrect information regarding ladies.
Why is it that guys can't seem to do a search,join and become a member and actually read the reivews and use this board with all of it's information at your finger tips. The list, if it was within the rules, only needed to be done once every 2 months.
If you notice who is upset,,, take a look at their reviews, who they have seen and what they are willing to spend. What's next, `150 an hour girls?
This board use to be more self aware of wasting bandwidth, now we have guys posting 26 times on the front page, why?
Just to see his name in lights, self gratifying posts about nothing. The sins of a few, have awakened the TER Gods.

So far, nobody has wanted to see me at that rate. It may spawn the birth of the $25 club, if things don't change soon.

Lol...take a look at who has the most to say against the 300 club...over the hill, over inflated, over priced providers. You get up on your soap box about TER policy and protecting the girls but then you disparage the girls and the guys who see them. Is the problem the post or the price Kathy? Why the reference to the 150 an hour girls? Why the reference to who certain hobbyists have seen? Why is that relevant?????

I stand by my post about TER policy and protecting the girls, it's insane that someone can just post a photo of a girl, list her on a list at a certain rate, without any real knowledge if this is true or not. How many times has Kevin's posts been corrected?
I do have a problem when a post or posts are shilling for low end girls... you bet ya I do.
Like I said what's next 150 an hour,,, who knows.
What I do know is this,,,, it's MUCH harder to get 9's and 10's when you charge 700-1500 an hour than it is to get 7's and 8's at 220-400!!!!

Anyway, this is my personal opinion on the subject.
One more thing,,, you are in a minority here at TER believe it or not, otherwise I would not be in business at my rate nor would BM still be in business.
The MAJORITY of hobbyiest are not interested in the 300 club, like it or not.

and by the way since your reference is probably to me since i have one of the biggest mouths on this topic, only one of the girls I have seen is in the 300 club and she is there cause i provided that info. I object on principle not out of self interest. And I would bet my left nut that 90% of the members of this board would consider the girls I have seen (austyn summers, lexxi diamond and sadie west) significantly hotter and more relevant in porn today than you.
It could have been a $1000/hr list or a $8000/hr list. Seems the list should not have been allowed in the first place, then this conversation would not be taking place.
Whether a provider charges $2/hr or $2000 is irrelevant. We've seen from recent comments that one well known porn star charges well over $2K for a 2-hour minimum and her reviews are mediocre at best and the company she runs with could care less. This isn't a cookie cutter hobby here where all the parts are built in the same factory so we should assume every person who charges X will give the same level of service. We also know that posters are going to ask about women who probably don't know, don't want anything to do with or have been banned from TER. Links, pictures and comments have been posted a zillion times featuring these women.
If accurate links, accurate information and so on is what TER is about, then great. Someone from TER needs to stay on top of that. And let's face it.. if a guy contacts a woman based on a link some other guy posted on TER in a comment and says to her "oh, I saw you on TER" that's just dumb.
If the $300 or $600 or whatever listing is done, so be it. It was well intentioned I'm sure.
Everything in life has rules. Those so called radical punks with the green hair and pierced eyelids like to think they're counter-everything but they have rules for their little club. The girls and guys who make so-called independent movies have rules. And even in our quaint little hobby we have rules. I think we all understand that.
But I don't think we have to heap vitriol and venom on KR and his defenders--remember they're good hobbyists just like their critics. And if they want a change in the rules there's nothing wrong with that. Lest we forget we've amended the Constitution a few times over the years.
And I don't think anyone's suggesting TER is bad or that we've forgotten "how good we have it"--I for one don't want to return to the days of trolling the yellow pages and hoping that the person who shows up at my door isn't holding a gun or that the address I've just pulled up to isn't a crack house. Still, there's nothing wrong with suggesting a change. Perhaps if we treat this whole thing as a proposed amendment to our hobbying constitution we can debate it on its merits and whether it makes sense or not rather than making ad hominem attacks against each other.
Just a thought.
