Just curious (there are old threads about specific stars, but mostly about whether they are escorting). What do they do when they don't want to make new content, even for OnlyFans or their personal websites, don't want to have to worry about staying toned, don't want to spend lots of time on makeup and appearance, etc.? I've heard of some who simply end up marrying/raising a family, living off their invested income from time in the business (including escorting), and at least a couple who started their own (non-sex-related) businesses, including running a bar. And of course there are the tragic stories about "retirements" that end quite badly. I'd be interested in info about this question--with or without naming the stars. (There are a couple of documentaries called After Porn Ends, which have some information.)

I assume you mean, "... retire FROM THE PORN BIZ." Or do you mean "stop working all together, make out their last will and testament, crawl under the covers, and wait to die."?

1. SOME of them retire with considerable wealth from earnings, saving and investing wisely, etc.. These days, top earners can retire as multimillionaires (or so I have read). They can do whatever they want.

2. Some of them do what regular folks do: start a new career. I've posted about Golden Age Eurasian star Kristara Barrington who, allegedly, left porn and fulfilled her lifelong desire to become a veterinarian ... and never looked back. I've read of some who got real (accredited) or "diploma mill" psychology degrees and become love advisors or sex counselors (exploiting their knowledge and experience). Many mainstream actors who leave the industry become realtors (real estate salesmen, not investors) as it's easy to get a license, you can work part time (in case you get a call from your agent), and you often have contacts from your former industry that can help with intros when someone is looking to buy or sell property. I have to think that some porn stars retire into the real estate biz.

3. Get married to someone who can support them in the manner to which they have become accustomed? ... or are willing to become re-accustomed? Sugar Baby?

5. Go into politics! The porn star who got elected in Italy. I forget her name. There's some sexy women (porn star? I don't know) who runs for Governor of CA in every gov election.

6. I know of some Providers (NOT porn stars) who have planned to (and sometimes succeeded to) open their own business (cosmetology, hair salon, web design company, professional studio photographer, etc.).

8. Do you mean retire from IN FRONT of the camera only? Some go into BEHIND the camera jobs: writing, directing, producing, video editing, sales, etc.. But that means they are still in the porn biz.

First, very few stars carve out decades-long careers like Nina Hartley or reach a level of celebrity where they can live off their former stardom.  Second, I think a lot of people overestimate what talents are paid.  This isn't Hollywood with 20-somethings being paid millions per movie.  

Also, I'd say the majority of female talents start out because they see it as a quick source of cash, then are done after 3-5 years.  I knew a girl who started in porn at age 20 doing "barely legal" and "step daughter" stuff.  We reconnected a few years later and had a good laugh over the fact that, age 24, she was already relegated to MILF scenes.  

I'd guess a lot of the talents who leave the biz before age 30 either go back to school or simply enter the job market in some capacity.  I recall hearing about one star who became a dental assistant, but was then fired when recognized by a patient.  I heard about another who became a chiropractor and another who became a personal trainer.  In short, I'd say very few cash in on their porn careers and the majority just end up getting "real world" jobs like the rest of us.

Porn doesn't pay nearly as.much as it used to.  So most get normal jobs and still escort.on the side.  If they didn't find a partner to pay the bills.

The few I know in their 40s and 50s didn't make nearly as much as you'd think and were bad at saving.  So now they have mundane middle salary jobs.

Some like Jenna Haze go to college and earn their Masters Degrees, in Phycology for her I believe.  She does have an OF acct, but has been "retired" from performing scenes for quite some time now.  What she'll do with her degree, who knows.

I’d say that this is the case for the overwhelming population of escorts as well.  

There are some exceptions- like one old friend in her 30's now who is a very successful sports marketing attorney- but the women I was friends with 10-15 years ago have all had one or two kids and have gotten divorced and are struggling financially.  
Onlyfans has given some the The kind of wealth that you can retire on, but that is very rare, and most of these girls live hand to mouth.

I have more than a dozen PS numbers in my cell that I text/call regularly. Most are 'retired' from the perspective of the adult industry. No 2 are in the same 'place' life wise. But I don't think any of them are in a 'bad' place. It's the other dozen I've lost contact with where it gets dicey when you search their real names (thinking of you Lauren Wambles and Breanna Cox).

For #2. I heard that a former porn star became a real estate agent and then got fired because one of her clients recognized her.  I think it was Houston, but I could be mistaken.

Very true.  I can't imagine the grind to escort full time long term.  I've worked in sales and having regular customers is gold.  But damn, that type of performance on a regular and having to do it only 3/4 weeks a month to pay bills?
