This has been bugging me. At what age does a pornstar graduate to MILF status? I mean I've seen 25-year olds referred to as MILFs. Personally, I figure you gotta be at least over 33 to be referred to as a MILF. And then what? Is Nina Hartley, for example, a MILF or should she be referred to as something like "Beyond-MILF?"

Technically you are correct, but, as used (especially on this Board and on porn websites), I think the terms "cougar" and "MILF" are interchangeable.  Based on the websites that I frequent (WAY too often, I might add!), I don't recall seeing "cougars" as a category, but MILF almost always is.  

One example would be a 23 year old PS who happens to have a kid.  I don't think many on this Board would consider her a MILF and I don't think her films would be in the MILF genre, even though that's what she is.  

In like manner, a 40+ year old who does NOT have kids might find her films listed under the MILF category.  I have no idea whether Teri Weigel has kids, but I think she is the classic definition of a MILF PS.

Doesn't mean it's correct; it's just the way it is.....

You're right.  But truth in advertising is not exactly the porn industry's mantra.  Girls with 50 scenes under their belt starring in "Her First Time" vids.  White girls (with tans) passed off as Latina, Middle Eastern, Indian.  Girls in their 20's and 30's doing "Just Turned 18" vids (and the opposite).  But sometimes they get it right -- for example, Kayla Paige, only 26, but a mom, was cast in many MILF Next Door scenes.

LOL!  Great point -- I think half of the "first time" vids are more like "first time today"!

Along those lines, I always get a kick out of the "naughty college nympho" and "cheerleader" type vids starring women in their 30s.  Funny stuff!

Actually a college nympho can be any age. Especially with older people going back to school nowadays. It isn't unusual to find people well into their 40's or even 50's and so on in college.

To me, being a MILF or cougar is more relative. I use to think 30 year olds fit the category. As I use to date someone who was 12 years my senior, and she was 35 when we first met. But now anyone in their 30's is like my equal, or almost a kid to me, sort of defeats the fantasy of being with an older, mature, more experienced woman. Now for me, a MILF/cougar should be well into their 40's maybe near 50.

technologically(been drinking and can't find the dang spell check, so don't know if  I spelled right) but I know that it's when you are a mother. But for the industry it's 30.  Thirty is the actual age for the whole MILF thing.Need MILF?

and if you have been drinking, even better! But I think the better word is "technically". Technologically, would pertain to something like cars, or computers. So I guess the alcohol got you somewhere. LOL :-)

Answer is simple - marketing, whatever will generate the most sales will get the term du jour for whatever age group is popular.  The studios determine what a MILF or Cougar is not the dictionary.  We can write about the concept but I doubt you'll see a casting call with these criteria: "MILF: 30-45" and Cougar: "45 and up" listed anywhere.  The ladies may have a voice in it because they may not be ready to be categorized as a MILF.  Once you go MILF, can you go back?(!!)

MILF was originally coined in the 1999 movie "American Pie" where friends at a party are looking at a photo of the host's mother (played by Jennifer Coolidge, then 36) and call her a "mom I'd like to fuck".

So it means the woman in question has to be at least old enough to reasonably have had teenage aged children whose male peers would find her sexually attractive enough to want to copulate with.  So a woman who had a kid very young at 16 yrs old would qualify as a MILF when her children and their friends would start thinking about sex, so early 30s at the earliest.  But usually it's a woman in her late 30s, early 40s.

Of course, that has nothing to do with how they're marketed in the adult industry.  But sorry, a 25 woman who just had a baby does not qualify as a MILF just because she's a mother.  She may by definition be a "mom you'd like to fuck", but it's not within the spirit of the term.
