I read some of the post regarding Candy Cotton now requesting deposits. I don't see why this would cause such a ruckus. Gents, it's simple. If you trust the lady then send a deposit, if not then don't use her. It's not that complicated. I personally don't like deposits because there's no guarantee of refund if something goes wrong. However if you trust the girl then send a deposit, otherwise, again don't bother. Besides, Candy said for her known clients she will not require a deposit. She's reputable, so if you're a new client of hers, send a deposit and then, once she knows and trust you. You won't have to anymore. What's the big deal gents. She's not known for ripping people off so go for it. If a deposit is really troublesome then don't bother and use someone else. It's totally up to her. It's her business and if that's how she chooses to run it then so be it. You always have the option of using someone else. It's not that big of a deal folks.

You are absolutely right. Unfortunately it developed into an issue outside the scope of Candy when the arguement turned to one hobbyist stating that no one should pay deposits. I think a view folks took offense (myself included) to someone trying to establish an edict for what should and should not be. The issue went off track into a debate on deposits and it got pretty nasty and personal..

My feeling is like yours.

April became available and I wanted to see her.  She/her agent required a deposit.  Now I had a choice - do I see April and pay the deposit OR do I forget about seeing April.  Oh, and yes I was able to negotiate her asking price.  Because I have freedom of choice and it is my money, I chose to see her and made my deposit through PayPal.  What happened, I met April and had a very wonderful time.  She is a great girl.  April & Company were the only one out of 7 that required a deposit.  I am quite sure that I will not need it with her again.  Had I not done that I would have missed a great opportunity.  That was my choice.  

Before I met Candy Cotton, we talked about deposits but she did not require one from me.  Even her web page mentions about deposits.  As a matter of fact she exempted me from needing a deposit because I post on these boards.  She had told me about no shows, etc., and how frustrating it was to her.  We had this conversation a while ago.  I wanted to see Candy and observed that she was well received on the boards so I decided to offer her a deposit, but she declined it because she knew that I posted on these boards.

This is a subject that was beat to death in another post, and then it turned into an attack on the girl.  This devastated her and it was not deserving.  Remember there are 3 sides to every story, his side, her side and the truth.  There were comments about bring light upon an issue, but was there enough light to see a clear picture?

This same thread then became a banter between others.  There were words exchaged between several participants.  When will that end?  Yes, there is freedom of speech, and yes I do not have to read the post, but I believe that it is setting a negative redolence on the entire board.  Please!

Look what happened with Kiki Daire about 6 weeks ago.  She found herself under an attack that I did not feel was warranted.  She too was devastated.  I had just seen the pretty lady several days before and did not experience what was being implied so I felt that I needed to respond.

I responded based upon my experience with her and then someone questioned why I was defending Kiki so vigorously.  I don't think that I was that vigorous but I did it because I felt that it was the right thing to do.

I at no time attacked the accuser.  As a matter of fact I had no idea who he was until he sent me a private email.  He asked me a question and I answered him truthfully.  I never disputed what he believe had happened, I just assured him that it did not happen to me.  I had no issue with the man nor did I remember his identity.  He and I had no dispute.

But then by another individual I get referred to as being another "DOC" in the house and his/her name is Tamifan.  Well, I'm a he.  The person went on to express his/her opinion and so be it.  I could have responded, but to me it wasn't worth it.  If you care to look at Kiki's reviews now, anyone will see that she has had several good reviews besides the one posted by the wholesome me.  Yet there were other positive reviews available before my review.

I am not turning this into a personal attack against anyone and I will ignore anyone that might want to attack me.  He or she is just not worth it and I will not lower myself.  If you do not want my opinion, then please, do not read it.

By the way, what ever happened to chivalry?  I have a fondness for all of the ladies that I was fortunate enough to meet and with that I respect each of them.  I also have a fondness for some of the other ladies that I was fortunate enough to have had communications with and may someday be lucky enough meet them.  There are also some of the guys that I formed an alliance with and am happy to have made their acquaintance.  

I don't know, but maybe something is wrong with me.  After all, I am on these boards to gain and share information, and not attack individuals or their beliefs.

This is supposed to be the holiday season.  Where is the holiday spirit and good will towards all men (and women)?

In my opinion chivalry died many many years ago.

Yeah it may have died along time ago, but imagine what an advantage a hobbyist who shows this will have overs in terms of things like deposits, or rates or service.

Despite the fact that we are participating in a hobby that is not conventional( actually it is!!)it is amazing how some decent common courtesy and respect are appreciated...

It's not as dead as one might think but not practiced enough.  I try to practice it in my life, I guess in part due to my upbringing and yes, it has a positive effect with the ladies.  My actions are genuine and I think that the ladies sense it.  Those that haven't tried maybe should, you might be surprised with the results.  I think that the ladies will agree with me on this.

SHow an act of kindness like a ripple affect. Translate it to real gentlemanly behaviors and see how it gets passed on...
