I promise you Terra makes more money from being on the road dancing than she does from her movie contracts. The porn fans aren't paying her rent...the strip club fans are. It's the same thing as with the hair...While movie companies are looking for more brunettes, the blondes are the ones who get hired more as features because the blonde hair stands out under the blacklights...I've been wanting to go back to brunette for years, but I wouldn't get hired as much as a dancer, which is my bread and butter, and my love.
As far as what the hobbyist prefers, who cares as long as the top of her head looks the same? ::jk:: Besides...those look like a really well-done set of knockers. Wow! I never expected the amount of responses that photo caused, and I'm a bit suprised about the negativity.
The porn industry is overloaded with large breasted blondes, so many in fact that at ECVS and AVN there were a lot of faces I recognized but couldn't put a name to because so many of them looked alike. And there is a lot of pressure placed on newcomers to have their boobs enhanced - In fact, I believe a few of the big companies like Vivid and Wicked will foot the bill if they think the girl has potential. I remember a few years ago reading on Big Doggie and/or Luke Ford about Phyllisha Anne having hers done, and actually breaking down in tears about it because at the time she really didn't want to do it but felt she had to if she wanted to advance in the business.
But in a large part the business is a reflection of their client base, namely guys like us who rent and/or purchase the product. If we all liked flat chested red-heads, there'd probably be a shit-load of Fiona Cheeks or Chloe look-a-likes making porn videos today. When Brianna Banks was a flat-chested girl making videos under the name Mirage, she was a non-entity, but after her boob job and name change, she became one of the hottest and most sought out lady in the industry, driven by the fact that us fans gobbled up her videos and magazine layouts. It was the same person, the same face, the same skinny legs, but suddenly we just couldn't get enough of those DD's.
So this is the cause of my surprise about the negative response to Tera's new look. It would seem based on the buying trends and porn fan preferences that the "New Tera Patrick" would have been well received. This makes me ask the question "Do guys who actually get to fuck these ladies think differently than guys who just rent their videos and buy the magazines they appear in"? Based on the thread below, the answer would seem to be YES. Is it because our fantasies are based on what a pornstar looked like when we first got a jones for her and so we want her to look that way if and when we get to be intimate with her? I'm curious to hear others thoughts on this.
While I agree that prior to her augmentation she had an almost flawless pair of breasts, it's not like she went over the top and pumped up to Minka like proportions; and the surgeon who did the work is obviously one of the best, since other than being larger, they look soft and natural. So personally I don't have that big a problem with them. I don't desire her any more because of them, but I don't desire her any less. As to going blonde, IMHO it doesn't takes away from her ethnicity; in fact, it kind of makes her more exotic looking. Does anyone remember the blonde Asian pornstar named Kascha? Her long, blonde hair (which she CLAIMED was because her father was Scandanavian) coupled with her obviously Asian facial structure made her look very exotic and super hot! (Unfortunately she was a dead fish in her video performances).
My guess is that Tera felt that she was getting older, hence less desirable (and employable) and she felt the pressure of a bunch of new young Asian pornstars entering the business; the change was done to make her "new and fresh" for her fans and to increase her marketability. I for one would love to get my hands on those puppies, fake or not!
That and the blonde hair diminish, not enhance, her features. She looks cheap now.
This is the same way I feel. I like the new tits (I usually prefer fake to real because I hate saggy breasts) but all the extra make up is does not look good at all.

Rapid One, as usual you hit the nail on the head (I swear dude never ever has to check his watch). To cut the chase, your average American male may have no taste, but the mainstream prefers the busty blonde. Tera is calculating that the mainstream prefers same, no matter what ethnicity. She's probably right, but it doesn't take away from my comments below. Maybe there's a tension between natural beauty and having a super glam look. I think when you have a lot of the former, you don't need the latter, but maybe I'm wrong.
I was in the same boat (my last white girlfriend was naturally blonde, 5'10" and was a natural 44F-28-38, and fucked like a porn star) until circumstances led me to work with a group of Asian people, and the rest, they say, was history. My first 2-3 AMP visits and my first Asian girlfriend (1990) were life changing experience. So I have a little bias here, but as life went on I always preferred the brunette, whether she be Asian, Latin, Middle Eastern or Italian. The bleached blonde J-girl anime look is sexy though.

The current generation of Asian AE stars is impressive, : Mika Tan (beautiful face and super sweet), Nautica (officially Japanese and Latina, looks more like Thai and Caucasian to me), Kianna Dior, Kaylani, and so on. But you can go back and find the stunning Linda Wong and Mai Lin from the early 80s, JAV stars like Mari Misato and a younger Mimi Miyagi and Suzi Suzuki from the early '90s, and so forth.
I will say this remember shes now under contract with vivid and also clubjenna for her website. So Im sure that alot of the new look has to do with changing it up some to make her more glamour looking rather then just fucknig hot.
As for on the Road and cash differences that probably also has alot do with it. I know my ex makes 8 times more on the road them pron movies did or would of ever made her. Dancing is really there pinacle. As for porn thats more the PR and marketing tool used to get guys to the clubs.

Smokinmg and being in Smoke filled clubs takes it out of these woman and add some drug use and its even more. So im sure that there is an amount of im getting old going on in the mental side of it too.

Feature dancing isn't as lucrative as it once was either. So many house dancers became pornstars just in order to become features that the market has become somewhat diluted to the point that only the really big names can make the kind of money they used to a few years ago.
