andrea I am sorry to hear that you lost a familly member. Even when the death is iminently expected it still comes as a shock to your system,
reinforcing your own mortality. I just yesterday heard that my best friend lost his mother yesteday on wednesday after having lost his dad in july of 2005

I did get a email from Andrea today (02-01) and she has not retired.

It was family related issue as there was a death in her family which was expected.
