I knew the NAME Traci Lords from numerous news accounts but I didn't know what she looked like  nor associated the name with a physical person until I saw that Married w/ Children episode. As I recall, she was wearing a tight red (sheath?) dress and I asked myself, "WHO is that GORGEOUS blond?" I had to IMDB it to look it up. Then, I knew!

I've met Traci. She's actually a nice lady. Won't talk about her porn days (one of the conditions she had to agree to). But, she wasn't the only one that did that. As I recall, Alexandra Quinn did the same thing. As for her mainstream acting career - she had a so-so career that never really went anywhere. But, I still get a kick out of seeing her on re-runs of "Married... with Children" (she was on twice). And she was in "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" which is hilarious considering...

I'm sure any man here who was at least 12 years old in 1984 recalls the huge scandal involving the Summer 1984 issue of PENTHOUSE Magazine....the issue that featured the nude photos of the reigning Miss USA Vanessa Williams (also the first African American Woman to win....).   As it happened, the Penthouse Pet of the Month for that issue was "Traci Lords" (real name Nora Louise Kuzma), a "18 year old" young woman from middle America.

Except.....Traci/Nora was not 18, she was 15 when that Photo Spread was shot & published!   Immediately following her appearance in Penthouse in late 1984, Traci/Nora went on to shoot and film hundreds of films and photo shoots involving most sex acts (except Anal) known in typical heterosexual Porn....she was obviously underage for all of this;   The fact that she used a false ID was finally uncovered by federal Investigators in the spring of 1986.   Immediately, tens of millions of erstwhile "innocent" American Men & teenage Boys who possessed a copy of that Penthouse Magazine Issue were now guilty of Felony Possession of Child Porn!    Furthermore, the scandal nearly sank the entire Adult Video Industry & all of Porn Valley in that summer of 1986, as producers & distributors had to literally burn millions of dollars of inventory and scrub any and all records of ever having even had Traci/Nora set foot in their collective doors.....   To this day, Traci Lords/Nora Kuzma is persona non grata throughout all of the Pornographic Industry, she is truly reviled......
What do all of you know or recall of this momentous event in the history of the Miss USA Pageant, Porn and Mainstream Media?
 
Sidenote:   In that very same Issue of Penthouse featuring Vanessa and Traci/Nora, there also appeared the beautiful and legendary pornographic actress Hypatia Lee....anyone recall HER?   She was the first Native American Pornographic Actress, she had absolutely stunning natural Beauty (at a time when many Porn actresses were very worn out and haggard looking)....and in her Penthouse photo spread that issues, she had one famous picture where she had her middle finger actually inserted into her vagina all the way to the knuckle....a rarity for the time.

What I remember is that the false IDs that she used were GOVERNMENT ISSUED, including a US Passport. That helped in the legal defense of the porn companies. "We trusted her gov issued documents and she fooled us. SHE EVEN FOOLED YOU [gov agencies]!"

It was at the infamous Pussycat Theater north of Times Square. One of her movies was playing and the theater had her do a live dance beforehand.
Fun fact: a friend of mine bought the big "Pussycat Theater" sign when the venue closed and displayed it in his apartment for years.

I do too. Fondly. And actually connected with her a few years ago on Twitter. She was actually very active and engaged, and responsive to DMs. Sadly, though, she had many health problems and had little positive to say about her experience in porn. Seemed very beaten down Felt badly for her.

I bumped into Annette Haven at the Costco hotdog seating area in Marin County a couple of years ago.   She was looking for an empty seat and there was only one next to me.   She sat down without asking if I minded and a few minutes after she sat down I politely said she looked familiar.  She went off in a (drug induced?) rant about guys being assholes and always trying to pick her up and get over on her.  Well excuse me.  You are an old looking witch, so why would any guy want to hit on you?   I couldn't get out of there fast enough.  She was a bit gaunt and haggard looking and there was no way I was going to chat her up.   Is this how over the hill porn stars that are pushing 70 live their lives now?

That's one of two episodes. In that one, she plays a femme fatale. In the other (her first appearance), she plays a nurse in a dentist's office. She's hot in both. Naturally. But, since I have a thing for nurses, I like that episode better. :-)
