I agree with you, but only to a point. I've often said right on this board that we all have our comfort levels regarding the risks we are willing to take in life in general and in having sex with pornstars in particular.
However, personal responsibility comes with some caveats... we need to extend that responsibility to others we may potentially affect, such as wives or girlfriends or even a girl we pick up in a bar for a one-night stand.
As a single male with no significant other who dates infrequently, I feel that I'm able to take higher risks than someone with a significant other SHOULD be willing to take.
Have I had bareback intercourse with a pornstar? Yes... twice. Once with Sara Jay FOR A WEB SITE. It was shot on video by a cameraman, and both Sara and I exchange verified test results. The other was with a girl I had seen several times previously; we were on vacation together, I trusted her and she me, and we both got tested before leaving on the trip.
Would I do it again? Yes... but I wouldn't do it with just any PSE, current test or not. I think to be truly responsible, even to yourself, you have to judge every case on an individual basis. You can't just say "She saw my test and I saw hers".
As Brigette pointed out, it takes 12 days from the date of infection for an HIV test to detect the virus. So tested or not, there's a window or opportunity in which it's possible for you to contract the virus even if the girl's test is negative. So it's important, in my opinion, to know something about the girl's lifestyle and attitudes. And to know that, also in my opinion, takes having a history with the person and developing a level of trust before being willing to accept the validity of her test 100%.
I don't judge anybody and could care less what a person does with his life as long as it doesn't adversly affect me.
To me, the number one aspect to personal responsibility is accountability. Being accountable for what happens to one's self frees you from being a victim.
That's a very powerful thing... not allowing yourself to be a victim allows you to correct the things that are wrong with your life. "My boss didn't like me so he fired me because I was late for work occasionally" Waaa! You're a victim of your boss's dislike for you. No reason to change your shorcomings, right? No reason to set your alarm a little bit earlier?
Unfortunately, for most of us it's a lot easier to blame others for our problems and to live our lives as victims.
i find it interesting that they are saying that "everyone has been quarantined inside and outside the industry" with which the porn star who tested positive for HIV has been in contact with. There is no way this could be the case if this is a star who has participated within this hobby. I don't think she would reveal any relations with people within this hobby. so i don't get how they can say everyone has been quarantined. i also find it interesting that there have actually been 22 cases of positive tests within the industry since 2004! and they still have not listed any names out of the 22 cases, so we don't really know if any of these 22 pornstars have or are still participating in this hobby?
I have been wondering about the same thing; why not reveal the names to the public. This situation is like baseball players testing positive for PEDs. When someone is putting up astronomical numbers cleanly, we'll always be suspicious.
HIV is not an enhancement.
Ny larger point was to release the names you smart ass.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protected_health_information
That's why they aren't releasing it. In addition, HIV/STD testing is meant to help stop the spread of disease, not to provide scarlet letters and feed paparazzi and people's purient desires, so I don't see that it's anyone's fucking business who has HIV outside of the fucking business (in other words, people who would have potential exposure to it in porn).
When we first started getting tested it was a known fact for all of us that if anyone tested positive it would be public knowledge. And I believe it should be especially in that industry. But they look at it like they know who has it and those people can't shoot anymore. But what they dont realize or dont care about are those girls can go out on tour and provide considering no one knows they have HIV.
Hell, there are a few girls quarantined from working in the industry right now... How does anyone know if they are not touring right now to make up for the money they are missing...
And where did patient X get the virus? She worked for a whole month before finding out she has HIV. Did someone on set give it to her and they just haven't gotten tested yet? Who knows? And how many scenes has she really done in that month and how many have those people done? All unanswered questions.... And we will probably never find out the answers too.
There have been confirmed women who have caught HIV in past couple years and we are finding out that now. What else are they hiding or are they going to hide?
Also, a person could go out tonight and have unprotected sex or use needles and catch HIV, get tested tomorrow or within a week and it could show up negative because it takes 12 days for it to come up positive. So how safe are you really?
IM sorry for being a wet blanket but I am just stating some facts and I am very upset by all of this and the way AIM and the government has handled this...
And if you think people wont work with stuff.. Your mistaken... Gonareaha and Chlymedia and BV run rapid on the sets. And a big percentage of the porn industry has herpes and if they dont have it yet either they are carriers are they will end up with it. Because at the end of the day it is unprotected sex and a lot of anal. And there are so many people in the industry today and you cant tell me they all use condoms in their personal life...
Its a big reason why I dont do movies anymore. Just too much stuff you can catch on set and I dont want any of it. And a lot of the people, not all of them but a lot feel like if you can take medication for it... its no big deal.. And I wont work with anyone who has that kind of an attitude.
So please be safe and remember a test doesnt keep you safe... Good judgment does.
This is just my two cents...
Bridgette
I do feel bad for anyone who has been quarantined and having to go through this. And I am not saying that anyone is touring with HIV or who is on the quarantine list... I am just saying it could happen and no one would know.
Also, when you put yourself in porn I do believe that if you are tested positive for anything it should be on public record and if you dont like it then you shouldn't be doing porn. Now this is just my opinion. But I also understand the patient/doctor confidentiality. But this is a sex industry and it's a little different then the civilian world.
But like I said... AIM is only for protecting the porn industry. So if someone tests positive then they are not going to let that person shoot again. But what that person does when they leave the industry is on them... and its out of AIM's hands...
I just don't understand the people who are bothered by vids in which the performers wear protection. Do they not watch the NFL because the players wear helmets and pads?!?!
I dont get it either... They are still getting pounded by a big cock! Who cares if there is a condoms. And it sure would keep everyone mostly clean... condoms dont protect from everything but it does help a lot! Just like a helmut and pads helps to protect football players but they can still get bruised and hurt.
And we have to keep in mind that a lot of young people watch porn and I think it would send a good message if the porn industry did go all condom.
but I'm pretty sure that an HIV positive provider would find her ass in a world of legal trouble -- and I'm talking criminal -- if she knowingly provided and spread HIV to anyone.
I think multiple people have been tried criminally for the same basic issue.
I didn't say anyone is..... I just said it could happen.
Heck, Marc Wallace forged his test so he could continue to work and he infected people. And this is a guy who has been in the business for a long time and was a sweet guy.
When it comes to money or drug addiction some people will take risks that others wont no matter what kind of trouble they will get into.
And do you know any of the names of the men or women who have been infected since 2004? I dont....
Excellent point! I don't know what -- if anything -- happened with Marc Wallace. No criminal charges were pursued to the best of my knowledge, but, again, I have no idea.
That is/was a very scary example, just as you said. I guess if everyone thought rationally and money/drug addiction/etc, didn't come into it, there probably wouldn't be much crime....
And, I agree, GO LAKERS! (but please lose Game 5, so I can use my Game 6 tickets!!!!)
Obvioously not as talent, but it just goes to show you how little the "powers that be" care about the talent. Marc is (or at least was not too long ago), working in some behind-the-scene capacity for one of the companies.
Now if Marc had unknowingly contracted the virus and infected others, I'd have sympathy for him and say "it's good to see the industry takes care of their own".
But he KNEW he was infected, FAKED a clean test, and continued to work. How could he NOT know that he was going to infect someone else? "Nice guy" or not, he's a dispicable human being, he should have gone to jail, and any compnay that would hire him is just as dispicable, in my opinion.
We all have different beliefs, comfort levels, attitudes, that shape what we do in life....
Some people are fine with racing a car 200 MPH at the Indy 500.....Others jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet....Every spring, climbers from all over the world ascent (or at least attempt to) Mt. Everest....To me, any of these aforementioned activities seem crazy...But there are many who are fine with doing these things & I'm in NO position to judge them for what they do...
I take my health seriously & I do excercise good judgment.....I've never engaged in the highest risk activities (no anal, I do not do any drugs, etc.) & nor do I plan to.....Hell, the last time I even had a drink was the time I met a porn star at the lounge in the Bel-Age Hotel (which is now the London West Hollywood Hotel) over 3 years ago....
There is a risk in anything we do in life from driving a car on the 1-10 to the activities we partake in.....Sure, I guess one could stay locked in a home with Netflix movies & never come out, but what fun would that be....
On a personal level, I'm always REALLY nervous to fly over the open ocean.....There is just such a sense of vulnerability when you're thousands of miles from land - if anything happens to the plane or if a passenger goes in distress (ie; medical emergency, starts acting crazy and/or dangerous, etc., that could be trouble).....Now, with the mysterious circumstances surrounding the Air France flight 447 tragedy, I'm going to be an absolute WRECK the next time I make the LAX - HNL (Honolulu) flight.....But I'm not going to stop going to Hawaii because of it....I can't drive there & I'm certainly not taking a boat......Life can & must go on.....
I'm a good person & I am able to make the decisions best for myself as to what I do in life......
Moose you are right... Its your life and what you do with it is your business.. But this wasnt toward you and I wasnt preaching or telling people what to do. I was just stating some facts Thats all...
And I hate to break it to you. But bad things do happen to good people all the time.
Now how about those LAKERS!!! Sorry I feel like I had to lighten the mood a little....
"And I hate to break it to you. But bad things do happen to good people all the time"..
Well, I know that first-hand...My father died of a heart attack 15 minutes after dropping me off at the catholic grade school I went to (this was 30 years ago) on his way to work...
To the 2nd. point, yes, looks like LA will have a 15th. NBA championship this week....
First off that is so heartbreaking.... IM sorry that happened to you.
I am just concerned that people rely too much on the tests. And I know your a big boy but all I am saying is be careful.. Thats all...
AND LAKERS LAKERS LAKERS! I hope they win here in LA on Tuesday.

First, I'm single like yourself, I'm too fussy & superficial to ever get married...One non-star provider said to me once "you are a slave to beauty" & she was right, lol.....So, as in your case, & in the case of other single/unattached hobbyists, I don't have ths issue of bringing home any diseases to anyone, because there is just me....
FE said: "in my opinion, to know something about the girl's lifestyle and attitudes".
That would be important if you were looking to establish a RELATIONSHIP w/a girl, porn star or otherwise....But see, I just don't accept some belief that BBFS is for male industry "pros" only & a hobbyist has to somehow prove his case "beyond a reasonable doubt" to do BBFS....I'm disease & drug free, hell, if I had to bring a drug-test I'd do that to....I have NOTHING to hide...Sorry to repeat this, but my life-style is FAR less risky than that of most, if not all, male stars...
As far as accountability, I've always been accountable....A great example was my post in response to Miss Bridgete M where I mentioned losing my father to a heart attack...I've never said woe is me, my dad died...What I have done my whole life is to eat well, get plenty of exercise, avoid tobacco, drugs, & alcohol and have constant physical checkups & doing all the reasonable testing (EKG, echo, etc.) to avoid the same fate as my dad...I've taken responsibility to have good heart health....And, I do the same thing in this hobby as well...
And in closing, I think there is one important thing to remember....Yes, I like BBFS, & have said so in countless posts.....But one seriously has their head in the sand if he/she thinks no one else is doing BBFS....Some hobbyists seek it, some providers offer it, that's the way it is...
It would be helpful to know who, but it doesn't really matter. Just thought your metaphor needed some work.
In 2004 they released all the names didn't they? I know it's messed up 4 the girl 2 have her name released ,but as a performer I'd like 2 know especially knowing who else is quarentined and who she worked with . I wouldn't want 2 work w a performer who was quarentined 4 HIV ever, even months later. She can go on providing /doing lesbian shows, nude dancing etc w/o anyone knowing and exposing them 2 it .
this is just the risk that we take within this hobby. like Miss Monroe said, if someone was tested positive for HIV , they would not be allowed to shoot videos, but they can still go into the hobby and make up for the money they lose from videos
