If you were willing to meet the porn star's industry rate, what is the difference between her being hired to film a clip for a website (let's say for example a Torbe clip) and us hiring her to do the same thing except your using a condom and you might not want the camera on and it won't be published on the net  or dvd

Surely it is a win win for the pornstar.

Let's also assume you are a normal decent looking guy, not looking for GFE or anything like that.

Is it purely the labelling of escorting which puts some pornstars off from doing this ?

Whether or not labeling of escorting puts pornstars off i guess is debatable...Some girls defintely aren't cut out for privates..

it can also be about safety.  most might not find it safe to meet a stranger in private for something like that, not to mention at least when they shoot porn they have to get tested where as you as an individual don't, and even though you are using a condom doesn't mean it safe (accidents do happen). not to mention some just won't. then their are others who make very good money doing porn and feature dancing and don't feel the need to escort.  you mentioned meeting the industry rate, well the rate varies depending on the girl, some get paid $5,000 a scene or more depending what type of scene it is, so why would a man pay $5,000 for an hour with one girl when he can spend that same money on 2 or 3 different girls or 5 different girls depending on the girl.

What if absolutely ever normal porn shoot requirement was met. STD checks, safe location determined by the lady (e.g. high hotel), even having a minder in the room etc

all costs met by the client

Even in the industry, some pornstars will not work with certain pornstars.  And that would apply the same to the average hobbyist as well.  

If you want to meet Abigaile Johnson, just ask her.   Its what I would do.

not necessarily true..some porn stars will never escort for various reasons..some are utr and will only see certain clients..some escort only rarely..some on a constant basis..the only you will know is to research and ask..the rates are all over the place depending on if they are new or established in the biz..most are handled by agencies since they just dont have the time to research their clients..

Seriously, though a porn ACTRESS is doing a scene with a male co-star.  She's acting.  She might know the male from other shoots, industry get togethers, agents, whatever  She might even find him attractive.  Theoretically, neither of them are "having sex".  They are ACTING in a SCENE in a movie.  If you've never seen a porn movie being shot, you probably don't know that the 20-minute clip you see takes several HOURS to film and involves a lot of stopping, resting, lubing, cleaning, moving of lights, and much, much more.

Doing a SCENE with an ACTOR is a COMPLETELY different thing for a woman than going to some location and having sex with a total stranger.  

The money involved may make a difference for some.  The safety issues might make a difference for some.  Use of condoms (or not) and testing and everything else might make a difference for some women.  But, at the end of the day, you are asking someone who is a total stranger to you to have sex with you which is very different from filming a movie.  Some women are just simply repulsed by the idea.   And you can offer them millions of dollars, promise to have a hundred people around, maybe even some with cameras shooting video, and the woman STILL has the right to say "no" just like she has the right to say "no" to working for a particular video studio, or with a particular actor/actress, or do to particular sex acts on film.  And there's NOTHING you can say or do (legally) to change her attitude toward you or what you're asking her to do.  

And, the more you ask a particular woman, the more likely you are to find yourself receiving a restraining order or being arrested as a stalker.

You mention Torbe in your post - having shot a lot of porn within Europe I can assure you that a lot of pornstars will not shoot with Torbe. A lot of girls refuse to shoot the kind of POV scenes that he does and a lot don't want to shoot with him given how he looks - unsurprisingly they far prefer to shoot with a young ripped guy who is closer to their age.

There is, obviously, a cross-over between the escorting and porn markets (as in the US) but certainly not all pornstars here will do escorting and, in fact, even less escorts will do porn.Ironically, the hottest girls in Europe tend to escort rather than do porn because it both pays more here and they keep their privacy.

I quite often ask pornstars if they escort as well do porn and the reasons for not escorting are varied. Some I have heard are: danger of escorting, risk of arrest, porn is art, bf/husband will not allow and emotionally couldn't be an escort. The last one I find interesting given what they will do in a porn scene, but that is how they feel.

One thing I have noticed is that the longer a girl does porn for, the more likely she is to escort.

Most girls in the industry even the ones who say most emphatically that they aren't available, are.

But there are approximately 3 categories with girls and their "availability:"

1. The ones who are openly/publicly available on pamela peaks, tlc, mpp and will work with fans directly if you ask them and provide references.

2. The ones who are UTR on certain websites and will never admit to it, not to their friends, public, bf, spouse, family etc..

With these women you have to go through official sites or they won't even acknowledge you or you have to have valid references through another girl they know personally and go through them.

3. The ones who "date" fans, but call it a sugar daddy/sugar baby relationship so psychologically it's not escorting to them even though it is. Now given the topic, I'm guessing the girl(s) you're interested in fit into category 2 or 3. If it's 2, go through an agency or a friend of hers. If it's 3, she probably has an amazon wishlist so shower her with gifts from there and promise more in exchange for dinner. And she'll probably agree.
