i wonder if it would make sense for a tribal council of hobbyist elders to sit down and once and for all certify the small fraction of the ~500 providers on TER who have declared themselves a "porn actress" ... it could be done via email or a poll (perhaps on a yahoo group) or as an actual "standards committee" meeting at a strip club with plenty of booze and naked chicks to ease the inevitable friction that may ensue over who is and who isn't a "porn actress"

the criteria can be decided democratically. i think deep down inside, the players and connoisseurs already know who is and isn't so it shouldn't be hard - for example, porn actress = at least one title or magazine spread ... i for one will be glad to serve as the "secretary" and present the minutes of this historic meeting to TER and Staff  
 
this way at least we may begin to consider having different TER regulations for the PSEs so as to make this forum more friendly to legitimmate porn actresses/stars/starlets, especially now that TER has begun advertising in main AE forums (men's magazines, etc) ... with such a list handy it would be very easy to make it simple for true PSEs to post freely on this board and keep out the posers at the same time!

it just seems unfair that the regulations designed for 20,000+ GFE providers on other (regional) TER boards could be hampering the phun and involvement of the roughly ~50 legit PSEs on TER, a much smaller fraction of whom actually bother to post on this board ... it's the GFEs that are choking the bandwidth NOT the PSEs

I tend to agree with what you are saying. I think to many providers use the porn star term to lightly. there should be som criteria established.

It can be very confusing when you do a search and hundreds of providers come up as porn stars. Hex, I haven't even heard of half of them.

I guess people use that term PSE or Porn Star for marketing.

It apears that there are more and more providers calling them selves pornstars  But this is one man's opinion i think there should be some form of criteria set by TER

yes but remember, we're NOT talking about "porn star(let)" here ... just "porn actress" which is already marked (flagged) in the TER provider profile

if a guy enters a new provider profile and sets the "porn actress" flag to YES, he should be able to provide TER with a link that verifies her status according to the criteria (whatever they turn out to be)

likewise, if a provider takes issue to her "porn actress" flag being set to NO, she should be able to provide a link, or at the very least, scan/fax a boxcover/backcover or photocopy of a magazine spread to TER to prove it

once we clean up the database, you'd be amazed how very few "porn actresses" will be left.  and a far smaller number of them actually post on this board so IMHO they can pretty much be given (relatively) free reign to post ads, touring info, idle chatter etc (god knows it'll make MichaelCA's job easier, so he can focus his attention on the riff-raff instead!)

any provider who's not on this PSE list must then NOT post availability and touring info on this board period.  however, PSEs must still abide by the usual regulations when posting on regional boards even though their numbers are much smaller than their "competition" on these other boards anyway

I don't know what to do about this.  I once saw a provider regularly for about 2 years before I discovered she was a porn actress!  She never advertised it and used a different name.  Here I thought I found this innocent young provider that was terrific between the sheets!  Then I accidentally found her website and saw her doing things I never dreamed of - a very pleasant surprise that just made our meetings hotter.  Anyway, the point is, if I knew she was a porn actress before we met, it would have changed the way I felt about her.  I don't know if I would have expected something different or ?

I guess I just liked the mystery of it all and I don't really care if a provider is a porn star or not.

Guys on this board have been whining about the whole Porn designation for as long as the board has been around.

It's beginning to sound like a condescending, snobbishness on the part of some posters.

The designation is Porn ACTRESS. If a gal's been in an adult film and received compensation, she qualifies as an "actress". I'm quite certain you'd find the same argument from SAG/SEG if they decided to get involved in the adult industry.

That being said, the designation is NOT Porn STAR!

Also, the definiton of PSE is Porn Star Experience. This does not mean that that a provider has actually performed IN adult fims, it merely means that YOUR experience with a provider falls in line with how YOU feel a porn film experience might be.

Hell, your SO might have one of those nights where she takes you for a trip to places you've never been and that might qualify as a PSE.


My only suggestion to Staff about this was that the default selection was accidently set to YES on the review form, when it should have been NO. I think that may have been addressed.

As for this hypocritical committee, just get on with life.

If the Regional board providers can be selective as to which providers can post ads & messages, then I feel that we on the PSE board can be selective as to who actually has earned the title of "Actress".  Care to debate this, jlbird??

 Yesterday, I went to Search with Porn Actress set to Yes and found there's over 400+ listings.  I randomly selected a few (8) & checked out the website of each.  When I didn't recognize ANY of the girls as being official actresses, I sent an error report for all 8 & added 2 weeks to my Quarterly VIP membership.

our friend JBIRD did the ol' moderator trick, which is:  skim through a thread real quick-like, scanning for keywords, and then reply with a pre-cooked answer from the archives ("PSE field is for ACTRESS, not porn STAR" and so on)

i could be wrong, but i honestly think if he had bothered to read it carefully he wouldn't have given that reply (which ended up agreeing with what was being said in the first place)

now as for the use of the word "hypocrite" ... i'm still pondering that one!  

but hey no big deal ... go score some more VIP points!  

Just reported problems on 14 more providers marked Yes in error.  That's another month basically.  And the total # of providers who are marked as Yes is now @ 500+.  Right now I'm targeting the girls in East Podunk (i.e. IN, NC, UT) that when I see their pictures, I KNOW that they're not porn actresses.
