I'm curious what others are seeing out there... I've been around long enough to remember a Top PS being $1500, and several REALLY great ones for $500-$800.

$1500 seems like the low end and $3000 on the high end.

The majority of rates for stars on PC, Tryst and AIA are between 1500 and 2000 with a few of the bigger names a little higher. Rates at Lourdes tend to be a little higher. I don't think these have changed much in the last 10 years or so.  
What I do see is less stars booking directly in the 500-800 range (Stevie, Holly Body, etc) you mentioned above.

This is my experience as well. The entry-level cost for new actresses and sometimes well-established ones is about $1,500. But I think extras like BBFS are sometimes available, which adds to this cost.

You can often see the same lady on p411 for 700-1,000/hr who is on some of the above sites for 1,200 to 2,000+.  Often higher rates are all inclusive.

It's now at $1700+ for the hour and $1000 for a half hour if they offer a half hour session. If they are affiliated with an agency like Tryst Agency then it's 2K+ with a steep deposit. The P-Star rates are out of control if you ask me. Hooking up with your favorite porn star is becoming more of a rich man's game.

I agree.  Even if you are well-off and can easily afford, it is hard to justify spending that much.

In my experience it seems 1500-1800 is the norm w/ more famous ladies often in the 2K-2500 range and some up to 2500-3K. I've seen a few exceptions being in the 1000-1200 but they seem to have priced up also in todays market. Highest I've seen was a UTR for 5K.  
At some point, for me personally, it becomes a matter of not what I can 'afford' to spend but rather what I'm 'comfortable/willing' to spend. It seems as I try to return to hobbying after an extensive break I am finding the latter to be much more my issue in jumping back in as opposed to the former.

There is some room for negotiation with the 3500 girls, but it was down to 2500 which was still too rich for my blood. What sucks is that it's still proportionally the same roughly 2x markup from provider to porn star, it's just that the regular provider base rate has gone up dramatically over the past 5 years.

You can filter and search by porn star on TER, top tier seems to be about $2500 and average is $1500.  You can still Get some deals, you just need to do your research.  

The rates also come down in a recession, I resent in 2012 you could get top tier stars on craig list under alias.  Supply and demand, if people stop paying $2500 than market pressure will bring those rates down
