Many guys lurk and don't write reviews, which is their right, but there are several ways writing reviews can help you. 1. When asking for info on a UTR, you are more likely to get help if you have reviews. I never give out information to somebody who has no or very few reviews. 2. When seeking information on a girl you want to see and you are PM-ing others who have seen her, the above also applies. 3. When reaching out to a girl who posts here, you have much more credibility if she sees that you have reviews. 4. It helps us all. The review data base is the best research tool we have. This is a significant investment we make when booking appointments and we like to be armed with as much information as possible before we take the plunge.
Posting in itself seems to be usually sufficient when asking for information. Having a PS reference as well is a bonus. So I think that reviews do help but there are other ways to gain credibility.
i've had a general membership for quite a few years now and I've been contributing with posts for all that time. Being an active member of the community by posting is just the right speed for me.
And they apply to all providers, not just pornstars. If a guy posts for a recommendation, and he has no reviews, he gets nothing from me. I'm not gonna recommend a girl I know to someone I know nothing about.
I agree 100% with soflaguy, writing reviews is the core basis of this wonderful information website research tool. I also must say that, come on dudes, writing reviews is a heck of alot of fun! It feels great documenting the experience, and always remember, it assists the lovely ladies in their proffession. just my 2 cents of course. ~Have an awesome day

+1...very good points indeed. Nothing compares to the value of information for the benefit to the whole community and the individual's informed decision.
I certainly agree w/ your points. And, someone who doesn't post reviews has to be understanding that others may not share info - that comes with the territory. But - there are some of us who, for a variety of reasons, don't feel comfortable posting reviews but still want to be a part of the community. You can contribute by posting information when relevant and also replying to posts w/ pm messages. I think as long as one is making a good faith effort to consistently give to other board members (and not just take) then they can still be a valuable part of the community.
One of the first rules of etiquette I learned as a Newbie was not mentioning anything explicit in an email when contacting a Provider. You never know who may see the email, it can be traced, etc.
Then, when I joined TER and read the reviews I saw guys writing very explicit things, with their userid shown, on a public website/server. It seemed a total opposite and decided for my own security and privacy not to write reviews.
I have found the reviews somewhat helpful but notice many contradictions between reviewers as to what the lady does or won't do so the reviews aren't all that important to me. I frequently read in a review "She's not a clock watcher". Well, you aren't watching but she is.
What I do find helpful are remarks that may question the true age, appearance/photo's and other mis-leading info on a provider. Those things I find more useful.
