I would look at it as more...if said lady claims she is a porn star and is expecting x y and z, in ur eyes do u think she warrants it....at least that;s how I read into that....

How I look at it.

Porn star = how she makes her living or at least it is a fairly regular job

Girl who has done porn = only in the biz for a little while and has done a couple scenes.

A pornSTAR is basically a very well known girl with a lot of movies under her belt...er, well, hips, actually.

PornSTARS, which I would consider true STARS in my perspective are:

-- Silvia Saint.
-- Jenna Jameson.

That's it, the rest IMO are performers.

A real pornstar need to have been active for at least 3-4 years and have done at least 30-40 scenes either for dvd or internet, or combination of the two. Because this allows for gestation of name recognition and following.

This discussion comes up all too often. I think you guys are getting hung up on the word "STAR".
To me by definition a PORNSTAR is someone who has STARRED in a PORN film. It's that simple.
I don't think it matters how many films they've done, if they've starred in a porn film then they are a pornstar. I know I'm in the minority on this one but like I said I think you're getting hung up on the word star.
