In town in about a week and hobbying to meet a pornstar for my birthday.  Considering a couple ladies, but find they are with several agencies. How do you know which one is best for which lady?

The question really is which booker gives you the best service, and is most attentive to your needs.  Who do you get along best with?  

I've found that Adonia at TLC is the best currently around.  She's always given me good service, good prices, and has handled all my requests.  I also get along pretty well with her.

If you're going to use Adonia, a tip:  call her, don't email.  She'll respond faster.  And if you have any requirements, or a budget or anything like that, tell her up front - it'll make things go smoother.

Does adonia and TLC have any issues regarding unsolicited texts?  I know someone else previously reported that another agency typically sends unsolicited texts.

I don't think she would do such a thing. Some agencies allow you to subscribe to an update notification...but is is something you have to ask for.  I don't even know if she does that.
