Does anybody know whether EXXXotica 2012 has been cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy?
I know that New Jersey transit is total messed up. Won't be running for several weeks. Or maybe a month or two. Also part of the NYC transit system from Bowling Green to Hearld Square will not be running for several weeks. And also gas is running extremly low or running empty on many gas stations in New Jersey and New York City. Not good if you are driving or taking a cab to the convention in Edison, New Jersey.

You know it's bad when an NFL team (Pittsburgh Steelers) has to fly in the same day as their game in NYC because there are no hotel rooms and than have to fly back that night! I know a friend living in NYC is staying at a shelter because of no power and no hotel rooms available.

You cannot even book a room in NYC for next weekend!

Actually, the Steelers did have hotel rooms.  They voluntarily decided to give up the rooms because of the plight of local residents.   Kudos to the Steelers.

The Steelers did not give up their hotel room..They could not find a hotel with power and electricity..

Why would any team with so much on the line just give up their room and fly in the same day as the game?

If you go to the Steelers web site it clearly implies that they could have secured other space but did not want to displace residents.  Whether it is purely an altrusitic move or a way to motivate players, who knows.  In any event, the Steelers are a class organization and should be applauded for their decision.

Thanks for letting us know it's on, but sad to say I can't go if the New Jersey transit trains are not running from Penn Station to Edison, New Jersey.

most likely a bad turn out since the storm did a wha-tusy in nj. Glad i didnt spend money on this trip.

Actually, if people still don't have power in their homes, they might not have anything better to do than to go check out scantily clad ladies... :-)

I spoke to someone from Exxxotica today.  There was some water damage in the convention center but it should all be cleared up by next weekend.  The show will go on...

I heard Gov. Christie talking today about the damage, the repairs, and their priorities, etc.  NJ Transit buses into/out of NYC have been running since Thursday and they are accepting rail passes on the buses.  NJ Transit trains are already running into Penn station from areas north of Trenton on the Northeast Corridor Line.  Trains between Woodbridge and Newark Penn Station on the North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan and Newark Penn Station on the Raritan Valley Line, are delayed due to power outages.

Gov. Christie is working with the gas companies to get gas to all places that do not have them.  Supposedly, they were putting together a list of gas stations that were not up and running and trying to figure out if they are out of power, or out of gas or both and they'd be doing everything they can to get at least one gas station up and running in every community.

Gov. Christie is also working with the utilities to get power restored as quickly as possible and they're expecting to restore electricity to most areas by the end of next week.  Certain areas and businesses are being given priority over homes so the train outages should be on that list.

Areas that have been hit the hardest were the areas near the shore and south of Trenton.  Edison is no where near the shore so less damage.

So, while it may be difficult, it's not impossible to get to Edison by train or bus.  Allow extra time and check the NJ Transit site for the latest updates and schedules.

What about Cherry Hill south of New Jersey? Was that also hit hard?
Just like to know since a friend of mine will be attending a Science-fiction convention, but won't be attending Exxxotica which is on the same weekend.

If you're talking about Philcon, it's on.  I understand that they have been delayed in some things (like the Program) but the hotel is ok and things are moving forward with convention planning....

Cherry Hill is more inland so it wasn't hit as hard as other areas.

Thanks for letting me know Philcon is on. I will relay this message to my friend who is not on the erotic review board.
