Industry STD/AIDS Testing

This is more of a discussion primer than anything else, but, here goes:

Do porn stars not understand that just because they took an HIV test or STD test some 4-6 months ago, that doesn't mean they are clean today if they've had sex with even one guy unprotected?

I don't want to go off on a rant here, but, if they somehow believe that because they are tested 'regularly' that makes them better and safer, would it follow that a John who had a test 4-6 months ago and had the document on hand during a 'date' with a porn star should expect equal treatment?  Are there any porn stars out there who would honor a recent (within 2-3 weeks) HIV/STD test and break their CBJ rules (if they have any) and do BBBJ (please PM me and don't put them on blast here)?  I won't even ask about BBFS.  But, I guess I am betting that there are some that do, but more that don't.  This all sparks from an encounter with a porn star a long time ago who refused to do BBBJ and chastised me for being unsafe in asking and how she was so much safer because she had a 4 month old HIV test in her purse and was tested regularly.  Well, no, I am not tested as often as a porn star, but then again, I don't fuck 100 people a year bareback either.  If that's the standard for BB services, then we should be told we have different options during the date if we can produce a recent STD/HIV test.

Of course, that's just my opinion...I could be wrong!

4-6 months? If you have an account with Talent Testing Services, your results expire in a month. Which means if you're in the business you'd have to get tested every month. Since I am not I'd just get tested before the encounter.
I recently did a shoot with a star though, and she only works with fresh results. So I got tested within a week.

I have a script from my MD to do a panel early Aug., (covered under insurance) but i will absolutely still get a TTS test when i go back to LA later next month....I always get a new test in LA, now thru TTS since AIM has closed its doors...I'm only booking one type of appt. (I would not book a CBJ or CFS appt. if it was free) & I would drive 100 miles if i had to get a TTS (or whatever the applicable agency) is used by the industry...

Quick question.  Do online results usually work, or is a hard copy and embossed stamp usually required?  I live on the east coast, get tested here but haven't used them yet.  Don't think waiting for hard copies to be mailed to me would work though, if that is even an option.  Any advice?

Some may require hard copy. As access to computer isn't always there and it's more reliable. Just print them.

TTS, CFS, et al, what does it all mean?

Just curious, why all the testing? I usually just get the ELISA (I think that's what's called) and I do it only once per year. Like I said, just curious. I'm not passing judgment on anyone.

This is precisely my point!  I mean, I'm all for testing and the modicum of security and alert it provides to everyone, but, is it all just a false sense of security since a person could have sex with someone who is HIV+ and pick it up from them, get tested on Tuesday and have it not show up on a test for 4-6 months.  Same thing if a person gets a clean test on a Monday, then fucks 30 people over the next two weeks...after that first person, the test results are pretty much out the window (even if all the partners are tested--unless they are all tested on the same day and kept BB abstinent until a scene or session, which probably doesn't happen).

Thanks for the replies though!
