She can't do that between now and June when her surgery is scheduled? And that site claims to already have raised about $15K which means she just needs $5K more - that's only about 5 hours "work". She can't do that on this NY trip? Something doesn't seem right about all this.
I'm not saying that this is a fraud, or that she's scamming her fans. I don't know the whole story. But, I'm suspicious when someone of her stature in the business claims she desperately needs money...
After years and years of porn stardom and escorting, it is kind of odd or maybe scarey that Nina Hartley needs to raise funds for healthcare. Not doubting her needs, but one would assume she has earned some serious money in her life.
Actually and 99% of all girls in porn have is they are too caught up in the $1,000 scene whereas if they did it for free and instead ask for the content now they could get residual income. It's amazing when you go into a hotel room and see the adult channel at $30 per movie..Yes the porn star made $1,000 (minus taxes so you now they are at $650), they are on the set for about 5-6 hours, whereas the producer takes that content and sells it and makes money sometimes years down the road..
All of Nina's scenes that she did back in the 80's and 90's are owned by somebody else and that person made a lot of money!

There are Porn Stars and escorts that earn much more than we realize, but there are a bunch that don't get much, plus there are very few that can sustain 'peak' performance/looks for more than a 3-5 year period. wouldn't suprise me if she 3-4 gigs a week or only 2-3 a month - ya never know.

I didn't have the inside information that you had but she seems level headed, been in the business a long time, makes great money. This seems fishy to me.
Nina is one of my all time favorites, but I doubt that she's any different than any other working girl out there. Why pay for something when you can get your clients/fans to pay for it?

I'm in regular contact with a semi-active pornstar who was once one of Nina's closest friends before moving out of California. I asked her about the fundraiser a month ago, which was the first she had heard of it. She immediately phoned Nina and was able to confirm that it was as legitimate as Keisha had claimed it to be when she first posted the link to it on this board back in February.
Wow. I hate to sound like an ass, but this does not seem like a "life threatening" issue to me. Based upon the initial web page, I'll cite the following:

In reading this, it sounds to me like this is an operation of choice - not of need (by the way....how are they "unsighlty in her uterus"?? Who the heck sees that?). Some people may want to contribute to that, but I'd rather hold it back for someone who is in a life or death situation. If she chooses to have this operation, then she should choose to save up for it and not play the sympathy card to her fans.
Maybe I don't have the full story - or I'm missing something - or I'm a selfish asshole, but I'm not getting it.

If you enjoyed her performances or have ever met her and want to help from a sense of nostalgia, go ahead. I gave enough to buy a pizza and beer. Not going to kill me. Was a great way for me to remember 7 years ago when I held her then still great ass in my hands, and then watched her suck me off!
