Arizona State University stripped Sigma Phi Epsilon of its recognition as a student organization on Friday, in part because of members' involvement in a sexually explicit movie filmed on campus last year, according to a fraternity officer.


"We're not recognized by ASU for three years," said Chris Johnson, an ASU student and vice president of membership development, who attended a meeting in which the decision was finalized. "We're nothing."

ASU officials would not confirm his report, but current and former members of both the Greek system and student government corroborated the information.

Johnson said other problems also contributed to Sigma Phi Epsilon's dismissal. Meanwhile, the executive vice president of ASU's student body, who three days ago said he would not apologize for appearing in Shane's World #29: Frat Row Scavenger Hunt 3, expressed contrition Friday.

"I regret for any of my actions that brought embarrassment to my family, friends, fraternity or university," Brian Buck, a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, which already is serving a two-year suspension for hazing, said in a statement.
