That is my worst fear about meeting any of my favorite adult stars. There is always the risk of ruining the image you have of them in your head forever.

I've met a few of my favs either dancing or via "the hobby." I'd say 90% were good to great experiences.  
But there's a couple that went terribly and I find it difficult, if not impossible to watch their videos now as a result

I cannot disagree with you more.  I also met Nicole while she was feature dancing.  I very much enjoyed talking to her and her company.
