First of all we need to ease up on the dramatics "enabling her to continue doing what she's doing; (2) telling her its okay to jerk you around because you aren't really going to do anything about it; and (3) putting other TER members at risk who might book her because you failed to disclose her name" This is pussy people not the end of the world as we know it! LOL  

Tuesday came and went without payment being made. Payment has been promised for next week (Sept 10) so I am writing this post in the spirit of providing information and you may draw your own conclusion.

First thing I 'd like to say I am in no way saying not to see this lady. In fact her reputation behind closed doors is beyond reproach. The business side might need a little brushing up since there appears there will be a delay in receiving your funds if she cancels on your appointment. If the refund shows up I will be right back saying that the matter has been resolved to everyones satisfaction.

The dealy in posting was to let my frustrations die down and accept that the money could be gone. My biggest issue is that I sent a depsoit for the full amount for the time requested and have only received half of that amount thus far. I do believe that deposits should be refunded in full at the time of cancellation but that may happen on Fantasy Island. She has basically been sitting on my money for 2 weeks - the time she received the deposit

We did communicate via email and text this week and as you can imagine words can be misinterpreted and the meaning of what you are trying to communicate can go haywire. She feels I was rude the nite of the cancellation in terms of how I asked for my money back. Understand there was no cussing or name calling or anyhting deragotory. I'll admit I was short with her. If you want to shoot me over that feel free. I tried to convey to her my frustrations first of not being able to see her and then sitting in the lobby for 45 minutes past the appointed time with drop calls, text messaging just trying to get a room number. Classic pissing contest and I have to just let it go now. She insists that she is not going to stiff me and she has reminded me of her rep on this board as proof of that. I think the biggest thing she does not understand is that although this may not be her modus operandi this is my first experience with her. It's almost like saying that 1 in 500,000 people get a certain type of cancer. Try telling that to the one person - for them it is 100% That is basically where I am at. If we had a history I would probably lay back and give it time, but considering this was a first time encounter I feel my concerns on getting paid are valid.

Kate Frost has over 10 years in the industry and I am sure if this was here normal way of operating she would not have been as successful as she has been. I wish her success because I have learned a valuable lesson.

I would like the takeaway from this to be - see her and make every effort to make your appointment come thru. If this was her normal way of operating she would not have the loyal following that she enjoys. Like I have said many times, shit happens. Learn and move on

So it's time to move on. There are too many postives to let this have a bigger impact than it should.

I do feel I should say something about deposits though.  I saw a lady this past week who asked for a deposit, I was weary but it was for only $100 so I gave her the deposit.  She came, was great, and we had a blast.

I feel everyone shares the bad deposit stories but never the good ones. Well, here is a good one.

On the bright side RoL, you did get half your deposit back thus far, which is significantly more than I've received from Kate. Really,I don't think it's a question of letting her, or any PS "jerk you around." I think you'd agree that there really is not very much that one can do to persuade any PS to refund deposits for canceled appointments, other than rely on their trustworthiness and good nature. And, of course, there is of course no way of knowing in advance that they are either of those things, and without that there is little recourse.

Given the nature of the activity in question, I certainly can't file a claim in small claims court. Posting a negative comment about the individual seems to be the only thing I can do. Yet, even so a comment on one chat board seems to be of negligible impact. I've posted comments about my experience with Kate a few times previously, and seemingly, it has had no particular impact either on obtaining a refund from her, or her attractiveness to others. Hell, I still think she's one of the hottest women in the business, and I think even I would see her again if given a chance. Just don't ask me for a deposit.

Sure, I'd love to get my deposit back still, and I persist in trying to get a response from her. But, rationally, I have long ago written off seeing my money, and as with you, I will not be giving deposits to anyone again in the future. I would very much love to see Kate's response to all of this, or any PSs for that matter.

You've said you think deposits should be returned at the time of the cancellation and that you believe Kate's business side needs a brush-up...but you also say, well this is just "pussy," so lets not get all worked up about it.  You do realize the latter is essentially what Kate is telling you.  She's telling you its not really business, its just "pussy" so its okay to hold on to your deposit until she gets around to, if ever, paying you back.

In terms of the alleged "dramatics," you're the one that created the issue to begin with.  You had the original venting post.  You set the Tuesday deadline.  You then let it pass without any further comment.  You could have outed her initially and there would not have been any "dramatics" as you call them.  You could have even outed her on Wednesday and there would not have been any "dramatics."   At the same time, you add to it by, on the one hand, explaining the facts as you see them but then also coming to Kate's defense.  You praised DO for calling Kate out in response to her post but then you seem hesitant to do the same after she took your money and has tried to make you feel bad about wanting it back.  Then you mention that the experience has ruined the PSE hobby for you but heck maybe you'll get your money back next week so it will all be okay.

sorry, but I can't see any way anyone can justify not returning a deposit when they didn't go through with the appointment. Had RoL been the one that cancelled, etc, and tried to reschedule, then that's a different story.  The best way for Kate to be rid of him is to give him his deposit back.

Regardless of whether he made it an issue or not, how is he at fault for not getting the deposit back?

If you really want to get your deposit back, you probably can go to small claims court - I'd suggest consulting a lawyer first though.  INAL, but seems to me that if you paid the deposit via Western Union, Paypal, or some other method where there's a record of sending her the money, you could go into court and claim it was a loan.  What's she going to say - you paid her for a date and she didn't show up?  She'd never win if she claimed it was a gift, nor could she claim it was for her fan club, or for merchandise or anything unless she could show you received something for the money.

Of course,  you'd have to find out her real name and address but that's not too hard, I think.

Again, if the money really is an issue, talk to a lawyer.

Better not because she might actually claim it was for sex, making it an illegal agreement, and invalid. Thus, you'll probably get your money back. But lying in court is not a good idea.

I am glad I canceled, it seems that it has paid off. Why would anyone want to party with a guy who is rude and is obviously immature.
My assistant will continue to request deposits from first time clients.
If you cannot be verified you may be required to make an initial deposit and also provide a DL#.
