Before posting this week's update of THE 300 CLUB, I thought some of you who have PM'd me about a host of insights would find this note from an established member of TER of interest (he has been on this board a long time and I reckon most of you would recognize his handle).  I have edited his PM to retain the substance of his private message without revealing his identity, or the identity of any girls.  I have also omitted his opening paragraph of praise for the list, so we pickup in mid-stream as follows:


It is truly amazing how far and how fast prices have fallen. I was at AVN in January and didn't pay more than $600 for prime action. One girl I didn't see, *****, was seeing guys for $3000 about 2 years ago. She offered herself to me for $800. I would have seen her but was too busy.

I can't imagine any guy paying $1500 for a pornstar these days. It's just not necessary. I was in ***** last week. *****, former Vivid girl, is in *****. I phoned her and she wanted $1500. I told her that was too much for me, given the state of the weak economy. I offered her $800 and she said no. So I booked a couple other local girls. Two days later ***** came back and said $1000. I said thanks, but no. The following day she again contacted me and said OK to the $800. I said sorry, I had made other arrangements, which I had. If ***** hadn't messed around and agreed to the original offer, she would have been $800 richer. Instead, she got nothing. Believe me, things are really tough for porn girls. ***** just told me she just had her car repossessed. And ***** had to go to a prepaid cell phone because she couldn't afford the monthly fees. Things are really tough.

I've been seeing pornstars for a long time, long before the internet and TER. $500 was the normal fee back in late 80s and early 90s. I saw *****, *****, *****, and several others, all in their prime years. ***** and ***** were on top of the porn world. They were thrilled with $500 and service was spectacular. Those days are coming back.

I don't disagree that prices should level out but it also depends who you are talking about. I was contacted by an agency i have used and it was a very famous UTR star and the fee was still ridiculous. I am talking the 12k for an hour.  Obviously i was very shocked and didn't see her. I don't know if she saw anyone that week but they weren't budging on the price. My personal opinion is $1000 is a fair rate for a girl who i define as a pornstar. Not a girl who was in 1 clip. Now, everybody has there opionion and thats great. I have seen my share of stars and i actually only see two stars now on a regular basis. I try and do all day sessions or overniters and that is when i negotiate with the girl. I never negotiate a first session. Finaly, my opinion is $2000-$3000 for an overniter or all day if you click with the girl is a good rate. I know some will say i am crazy but thats whats good about america, we can choose what we like.

The economic collapse has been a real wake-up call.  Even those of us that can afford high rates just won't shell out the big bucks anymore.  Is there still a core group that can easily spend $1500 +/hr for a PS.  Of course.  Will we?  I doubt it.

I hope that reduced rates are the silver lining to the black economic cloud.  
I also agree that the downturn has people re-thinking how they drop their hard-earned coin, regardless of whether the economy is causing their business to tank.  
My firm handles employment litigation and nobody sues until they are fired, so our business is actually doing very well these days.  Still, the days of me paying $1500-2000 appear to be over for the time being.  Just can't justify it and there isn't anyone that I want to see THAT bad...well...at least until I hear that Evelyn Lin has changed her mind and decided to provide -- then I'm emptying my bank accounts!

I know girls who do well at and above your supposed threshold. Then again these are girls who don't need the $ so much. They like making it but if nothing comes they're quite happy not to work as well. They don't rely on it to support themselves but to purchase luxury items.
Yes, you are correct about average Joe's not willing or able to pay the high a rates, but there is still a section of the community that can and does hobby at the higher end of the pool. For me it's a luxury I save for, I tried a newbie at a very modest rate last night and would have been better served by a blow-up doll. I'm purely going to stick to my mid-level and above  favorites. I did find a new mid-level girl who is new and I will review her soon.

Ya know, we all sit here and talk about the girls dropping their rates, compalin that we were over charged at times based on value and now things are back to normal - price wise. Whats strange is WE all are in the same position almost. We aren't sending as much on things as we used to, we are watching our dollars, we have cut back on other things - so in reality, we are doing the same as the girls are - only in reverse. The one's I have seen DESERVE to increase their rates back to where they were. But they are working with their "customer base".

I received a communication from Paola Rey regarding an upcoming trip, and I asked if she still had her rates at 1000 with a 3-hour MINIMUM.  She said yes and that was the miminum for her as she normally does LONGER TIMES (who wants to be on a 12-hr PSE date for 10K+??)

I said that in the current economy, those types of setups just don't fly anymore, and I declined.  It is amazing how some PSE's still cling on to sky-high prices.  With the wide availability of less expensive, but equally HOT PSEs, I don't see how these ladies justify their prices and expect a bunch of business.

Just venting my $0.02 on the issue.

At that rate she doesn't expect a lot of business. Does Rolls Royce expect to match Toyota's nnumbers in units sold...NO they'e not looking to go after the same market just as Paola is looking to take business from some 400hr girl. All the complaining about some girls rates being to high is just dreaming that you'll get to see exclusive girls at eveyday rates. If the economy tanks that bad, girls like this will probably just marry some well off guy and no longer be available and guys that can't see them now will be even broker so still won't get them then.
